Are Plans for 'Serenity 2' in the Works?

The ever-lovable, wonder-writer/director Joss Whedon needs to get a few projects on the go. After running himself ragged with Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Angel, he brought the world a small helping of Firefly, a pretty kick-arse movie adaptation Serenity, almost made Wonder Woman, and continued the story of the slayers in comic form. Having handed over the reigns on that, what's left to do? It's not like Veronica Mars is still around for him to guest on! Well, he's still working on his supernatural Goners script after getting a bunch of studio notes, but Whedon never takes it easy, so it's not a surprise that after reviving his first beloved series, there's rumors of a Serenity 2.

Oh yes, the Browncoats might come back -- not necessarily to the big screen, but to DVD. While the film's box office didn't live up to expectations, it has, unsurprisingly, had a heck of a stint on disc. Moviehole recently chatted with Alan Tudyk (Wash), and he said: "They had to put [the new DVD] out because they've been selling out of the other one, and so Universal's like 'So, let's do another one.' And now... there's now a chance there's going to be another movie." Well, this is just about the most solid Whedon rumor you can get. While he always has a million potential projects swimming in his head, it's big news if the studios can see an audience and get interested in the idea.

So, does this make you giggle with schoolgirl-like glee? If so, keep picking up those DVDs and we might just see Serenity fly again! But heck, they could even keep the ship docked the entire time and show a lot of Summer Glau butt-kicking. Who wouldn't be up for more of that!?

Looks like autum is finally getting its hold over here. We still have warm days, but it's also getting colder. It's nice, I like it. I'm kind of looking forward to winter, snow and such. I know that'll bring me closer to the move, but part of me is just looking forward to get that over with.

According to the question comments in my last post, only 11 people on my flist actually sees my posts... or the rest just doesn't care. I mean, out of about 60 people that's not to good. Ah, well. Not much I can do about it really.

Not much has happened since my last post, had the day off on Monday which was nice. Dropped some boxes off at isil80's place. She's storing some stuff for me. For which I am very thankful. Rest of the day I tried going through more stuff. So far I've managed to throw away two rather big boxes of old magazines, and one with broken old toys and basic junk. Think I'm off to a godd start. I've gotten some more bids on  my online auction, which means I'll at least be able to pay off the fees for the auctions.
Isn't it typical though, that now that I really have no money I find clothes I'd love to buy, DVDs I've been wanting on sales and such. The money I earn on the auction though is going straight into my account though. It's not a lot so far, so will have to spend it wisely, besides christmas is approaching so need the cash to buy presents. :)

Was at work yesterday and today. The class learned about acting, new teacher. He was kind of cute, but I think he knew it...
Anyway they learned about acting, was fun to see them trying to work with the assignments he gave them. These are all kids that have choosen a major that will take them behind the camera, and none of them were really that comfortable in front of it. I went through the same thing when we had acting at my school. I think it's good that they did it though, it goes a long way to understand how things work from the actor's point of view too, and I think it'll make them better at being directors.
I got to film them as they performed. Oh, how I've missed working with a camera! I had no idea till I was back doing it. The camera's they use are very different from what I'm used to, but got the hang of it. I really want to make something, a short thing... I really should get the footage I already have edited and such before I start something new though.

I was discussing movies with two of the male students today; Even and Bård. Somehow we got on to sci-fi movies, and suddenly Even says that 'Serenity' is the worst sci-fi movie he's ever seen. I think I startled him when I said; 'No!' Heh, seriously, how can you hate that movie? I get that not everybody loves it, but hate!?!? Bård seemed to have liked it though. I didn't discuss it much further. Usually I defend my fave movies and such, but he's techniqally my student so I didn't really feel my fangirlie mode had anything to do in that classroom.

After work I've usually been pretty beat. I have rather short days, but still get rather tired. Guess I just have to get back into the rythm of it. As it is now I'm tired till like 18:00 and then I finally feel awake. So when It's time to go to bed I'm wide awake. Ah, well. Like I said, just have to get into the new rythm of things again.

Looks like I might have to work on Friday. :(
Means I won't be able to start looking for the new SPN ep till 14:30. Ah well, I'll still get it on friday, so I shouldn't complain. We'll see though, depends on what they're supposed to be doing that day.

My mom and I drove the house guests to the airport today. Helped them check in and said our good byes. they were really nice, but it's good to have things back to normal.
Afterwards my mom and I went to the mall and had a look around. I only bought a firewire, so I can get started on some editing and such. Holiday videos. My mom bought some clothes, and we got some food.

I am so tired lately, wake up at about 10 every morning, get stuff done and then about 16:00 I feel the need for sleep again. When I finally feel awake again it's time to go to bed. Sick of it.

I want to take a trip, but I'm out of money... I know I was just on vacation, but everybody's going back to school and working, so the days are kind of slow.

Got the Black Books collection the other day, watched the first two episodes with commentary yesterday. Not very enlightening to be honest. ;p

Working on the Poland-post. It's frggin HUGE, but it's got pics, so hopefully there'll be something of interest.

*yawns*

Hope everybody is okay!

I handed in my laptop to be fixed today, minor things, nothing to worry about... I hope.

I've ent out my first batch of CV's, now I just have to wait.

I've started recording sound bits from Supernatural, any requests?
And also for the people that actually took a look at the posts about my DVD collection, if you want and soundbits of any of my dvd's just ask.

And finally a little meme thing. LJ can be kind of superficial, we might think we know people, but that's not always the case. So I want you to ask me a question, something you've wondered about, or would just like to know. I'll answer.
I'm adding to this pic requests. Not of me but of stuff... like my fave shoes or my front door or whatever.

Off to bed now, am tired.

Had a quiet weekend after all the action on friday.
Been working really hard on those X3 icons, got 258 bases to do something with. Yeah, I went a bit crazy there, lol.
Have been doing stuff around the house, being all housy and stuff. Think I'm doing okay. Hehe.
Sunday was pretty dead, son't really remember much of what I did, went to the shop and bought milk and pasta, oh the things I saw on that quest. In the evening I was online chatting. Watched 'Ella Enchanted' It's a very simple movie, but I enjoy it. After the film I ended up discussing Supernatural with [profile] ajali, how the guys relate to eachother, and how the boys are with their father and vice versa. Another reason I love the show, so much depth and possibilities for discussion.

Yesterday kind of went quickly. Didn't do much during the day. Going through my flist, and doing stuff around the house. In the evening I drove into the city and met up with [personal profile] beluga, we headed over to the rental place and had a look around. None of us were really inspired to pick out a movie, usually when we go in we find so many we have to cut it down. Yesterday we just walked through the place having no clue. She asked me if there was anything we missed in the cinema, and all I could come up with was 'Saw 2', I didn't think they had it in, but [personal profile] beluga found it. Not far from it, they had 'Jarhead' too, which was one of those movies we kind of wanted to see, but weren't sure, but we got it anyway.
Stopped on the way back for some goodies, and settled in for some movie magic. We started with 'Jarhead'. And I have to say I really liked it, and that's saying a lot as I usually can't stand war movies. However I really liked this one, maybe because it was more about the people than the war. The cinematography was wonderful, really stunning. The actors all did a wonderful job. How did this movie or it's actor not get any kind of Oscar nomination? I know the film fared better outside the US than in the US, I kind of get it as it doesn't really show a positive view of the american army, but come on, it's not like we believe all the propaganda stuff either. Long story short, I really enjoyed this film, and it might actually end up in my DVD collection at some point.
Afterwards we threw  'Saw 2' in the DVD player. I had expectations to this film, as I really like the first one, but it didn't quite hit the same level as the first. I liked the idea of the setup, but I didn't feel the same kind of dread and uneasyness as during the first one. I was stressed, but it never quite managed to peak. The revelation at the end didn't grab me like in the first one. However I did enjoy it, it works well as a scary movie, I might actually say it would have benefitted from being a bit longer, letting us know a little more about the victims.

After the films, [personal profile] beluga and I just sat talking was nice. It's not long till we go to Poland so we discussed a little bit about stuff we could do while we are there. Will be loads of fun, yay.

Have been meaning to post this for a while.

Way back when in March after we'd finished shooting the bar scene for a film, I stumbeled upon a place on my way to the bus.

And last week while I was out in the DVD shops in stumbeled upon this little thing.
Squee! )

A day later I discover THIS LINK online, and squee again.

But tonight, just a few minutes ago I found THIS LINK, and am now hyper!
I cannot wait until September 5th! We're getting a gag-reel! Hurray! I would have liked episode commentaries, but can't win 'em all.

EDIT: Okay, changed this post a little bit, made it in to a meme, after I managed to find all the covers. I've had this meme up before, but thought it'd be a bit tidier this way.

If you choose to do the meme, you can do it with anything, films/dvd/foodstuffs - whatever you choose.

Tell me which movies we both own.
Tell me the ones you are suprised by me owning
Tell me why I am sad for owning a particular title.
