So about two weeks ago I was in Oslo and saw 'Hair' at Det Norske Teatret (The Norwegian Theatre).
I mainly went to see my friend JC in the role of Hubert and to support him in his trade.
I'm not the biggest musical buff, but I'm going to try and write a review at the request of [profile] miss_nightowl

From what I could gather they'd tried to  set it in modern times, but that only came into play in the opening where all the performers are sitting by a row of computers with their back against the audience. One by one they leave their seat and make their way to the front of the stage, and just start walking around on it, once they come to one of the edges or bump into one of the others they turn and walk in another direction. It kind of reminded me of a busy street full of strangers that don't want to look anybody in the eye. To busy with their own life to notice anybody else.
When JC, or Hubert as he's called in the play reaches the edge again he bursts out singing 'Aquarius', which he did beautifully. I knew the boy could sing, but wow. As I've said in a previous post he put his full force into it that night.
JC & Jannike

As for the rest of the production, if I hadn't seen some parts of the film a few years back, and actually remembered some of it I don't think I would have been able to follow the plot to closely. There were some bits where I couldn't understand why it had been included and what it had to do with the rest of the story. Also I never felt that I fully got a grasp of the characters in the piece either. There's a love story involved, but I don't think I would have fully picked up on that if I hadn't remembered that part of the film.
I don't remember much of the movie, but I've been told the story there isn't to advanced either.
JC told me the day before that he wasn't happy with the coreography they were doing. Honestly, I could see that it wasn't anything traditional, to me it looked like something a bit experimental at times, but I thought it was cool.
The reason to go and see it though, that's the music. The night I saw it there was a tremendous energy on the stage and it seemed like everybody was putting everything into their performance and were having a blast. That was really fun. My fave songs I think will have to be 'Aquarius' and 'Let the Sunshine in'. Just wonderful.

I have to admit that I also got a kick out of the fact that it was all performed in NyNorsk (NewNorwegian), which is the norwegian language that I speak and use.

That was my attempt at a review. Hope it gave some insight.

Have had a quiet week really. Been surfing the net, getting caught up on some of my shows and just trying to get some stuff done.

Looks like I'm off to Oslo in November, really looking forward to it. Janki is looking into getting me tickets for 'Hair'. I hope I get to see it, would be so awesome to see him perform. I've never been a big musical fan, but this is different. If it doesn't work out I figure I'll try to contact Nina and we'll hang out or something.

So I finally got to see the season opener of "Prison Break". It was good, but I was also kind of dissapointed. I've always kind of seen this series as holding on to realism as well as they could. I mean if you remove all the close shaves and stuff that's just in there to be dramatic one can to some degree buy into it all. They do manage to hold the suspense all the way through, which is rare, and very well done.
I still like the show, and will keep watching. It is one of the most well written with regards to the close shaves and drama, and keeping the exitement level high. I'll keep watching and hoping that it'll redeem these issues in some way. New episode tonight, so we'll see what happens.

Not much else happening really. Am kind of looking forward to going back to work. I've applied at a job at the airport, and am looking in to some other things that could hold me over until I get an actual movie/TV gig.

We're starting to pack some stuff. Looking for boxes and stuff. I'll have to go through all my stuff and see what I want to keep and if there's anything I can throw away. I hate this part.
My dad has been going through a lot of his stuff and has started selling a bunch of stuff online. Sad really, a lot of what he's selling has been in our family for a long time. It's not of any use anymore, so I get why he's selling it, but it's still kind of sad.

If you've been paying attention you'll have seen that I've been posting a lot of fan-art, mainly by request. So I'm keeping this open, if you have any requests, just ask. I'll make banners, headers, icons, wallpapers, soundbites, and caps. No problem.

[personal profile] beluga ordered me to share this video with you guys. I don't mind, it really amused me.
[Error: unknown template 'video']
Thought I had finished  "Prison Break" yesterday. Turned out I have another episode before I can start season 2. I only figured it out because one of [profile] isil80's icons featured something from the last episode and it struck me after I'd gone to bed that I hadn't seen that. So am in the process of getting it now and will get to watch it later.

My mom's feeling much better now, coughing has calmed down quite a bit so she's very happy about that.

I might be taking a trip to Oslo in the beginning of November. Visiting Janki, and hopefully getting to see him perform in 'Hair'. Will have a talk with him on Monday and see how it works out. Would be so fun if it worked out.

My friend Janki is starring in the musical 'Hair' at the Norwegian Thetre in Oslo. He gets to sing 'Aquarius' which I guess is the theme song for that production.
Anyways, they were on TV tonight, I taped it while I had visitors, but just had a chance to watch it. So great. Was so much fun to see Janki perform, and actually doing what he's been dreaming of for so long. I think he did a great job as well.
Seen it three times now.
Just chatted with him on MSN as well and told him how that he did a wonderful job. He was modest though, glad I enjoyed the show.

So great to see friends succeed in something they've wanted.

We've had a cat living in our garage.

Went to visit [profile] isil80 on Thursday, that was fun.

Quiet weekend, watched 'Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom' and 'Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade'. I have a theory brewing as a result. Watch this space.
Anyways, I really don't want there to be an 'Indiana Jones 4'.
Have also watched the first two episodes of 'Psych'. And the first episode of season 2 of 'Dark Angel'. I just had to as it seems to be mentioned on my flist a lot lately.

Next round of applications going out tomorrow, JC says he might have gotten a lead for me. It's in Oslo though, but to be honest that's probably where I'll end up in the end anyway.

And I put this meme in my last post:
LJ can be kind of superficial, we might think we know people, but that's not always the case. So I want you to ask me a question, something you've wondered about, or would just like to know. I'll answer.
I'm adding to this pic requests. Not of me but of stuff... like my fave shoes or my front door or whatever.

Need more quessies and requests, ask as many questions as you want.

The big Poland update is coming too.

So yeah, been quiet around here lately.

First off I wanted to thank the people who replied to the character-letter-meme, I loved all the replies very much.I sat giggling like a twat for ages afterwards.Wonderful start to the day. It's still open, if anybody wants to join in the fun. ;p

I've been helping [livejournal.com profile] isil80 move into her new flat, which looks great, can't wait to see it when she's put everything in it's place. She's at the top of an apartement building, so it was a good workout. ;p I think it'll look wonderful when she gets everything into place, gets the new furniture up, and buys the new couch.

Thusday [livejournal.com profile] beluga came by, we just took it easy. Watched eoisode 13 of 'Supernatural'; 'Route 666' It's not the best eppy of the show by far, I might go as far as to say it's my least favourite. Spoilers within )

Think I'll stop there, [livejournal.com profile] beluga did a really awsome picture review in her LJ, so if you want to see it, click here. I basically agree with everything she has to say, but she's done a better job of it, so it's worth a look. ;)

Now we'll be having a 9 week hiatus. Not because of the WB, but because I'll be leaving for London, and since I download the shows I think it's only fair to wait until I get home and share it with [livejournal.com profile] beluga. Nice to have someone to squee with. Just hope I can stay away from spoilers ;p

I'm leaving tomorrow, I don't feel ready, but on the other hand it'll be good to get this bit before easter over and done with, because it'll be the hardest part. I should go finish packing... urgh. Looks like JC will be stopping by sometime in March, so that'll be fun. I'm going to be babysitting his giant teddy bear, because he didn't manage to get it home with him this time around.
Hmmm, if anyone of the Brits on my flist can identify where certain scenes of 'Shaun of the Dead' and 'Green Street Hooligans' have been shoot, I'd muchly apprechiate it. :)
I wanna go find the bar from 'Shaun of the Dead' and take some pics, like I did with the book store front for 'Black Books'.

So i discovered some bitch had stolen some of my Supernatural icons and reposted them in her own journal. Now, I apprechiate that people like my icons, but stuff like that just annoys me. *grumble*

[livejournal.com profile] beluga has stolen my laptop and is editing together some stuff... so I'm on my dad's comp right now... I wonder if there's anything good on TV at the moment.
[livejournal.com profile] isil80 will be stopping by later tonight.
Think the plan is to watch 'Serenity' and 'The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants'.

Anybody know of a guide for dummies regadring LJ layout for people without a paid account? I'm talking about a baby-steps tutorial or something... I'll be using it for my GJ, but they're basically the same, would like the updating part of my webpage to be a bit easier...

Think I'll quit now... Hope everyone is having a nice weekend.

Friendship isn't partying with a group of people to get drunk or chatting with him/her once a week, it's exactly the opposite. Friends make sure you get home safely and they help you when you need it, no matter the scenario. They don't care about what clothes you wear or what you look like, and they don't last for a day. Real friends are more interested in what direction your life is headed rather than your popularity. They care about what you have to say and how you feel, and once you meet this person you'll know it without having to think twice.

I've been thinking a lot about LOTR lately, and how I miss it, and then I saw a post in [livejournal.com profile] cantusnoctum's journal about the very same thing. Am thinking I'll have to buy the 'Ringers: Lord of the Fans' DVD just to get some kind of new feeling about the whole thing. It's been a good while since I've seen the movies too, so am thinking I'll have to have a look at them while I'm home this christmas.
Am thinking they all should have a reunion and make a film together again, doesn't have to be LOTR related, I just want to see them all on screen together again. I still think Billy Boyd should play Driveshaft's managar in "Lost", come on! Who's with me on that one?

Where's Billy Boyd gone anyway? Feel like I haven't seen him in ages.
*runs and posts some billy icons*

That reminds me, I saw "Everything is Illuminated" 2(!) weeks ago. It was a cute movie, but I thought that Alexander and the dog stole the show. Elijah's character was very calm and didn't really do much. Elijah did a good job, as always, but for me it lacked a little something. Still, it was very sweet and endearing.
Though their representation og helpfulness in the Ukraine compared to USA was totally wrong. My experiance traveling in Poland has taught me that people will bend over backwards to help you, while here in Europe people will barely look at eachother.
It just bugs me when people in Easter Europe are presented as angry and resentful and Americans and Western Europeans are presented as happy-go-lucky people...
I ramble, go see the film, don't listen to me.

I saw "The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe" yesterday with Sol, JC and his boyfriend Kenneth. It was a cute film, but I'm not going all crazy over it. Did however like it much more than the last Harry Potter film. The youngest girl in the film, Lucy, was such a charmer, so cute. And the oldest boy, Peter, made me wish I was 16 again... *nuff said*
Tilda Swinton was very good as well and I loved her colour-changing-dress, except for the top part, there was something weird going on there.
The CGI was a bit disappointing, the beavers were good. I think the wolf CGI was put over dogs or something... looked good sometimes, and very bad other times. I wasn't impressed by the work on Aslan either, but I seem to be the only one. The fox looked like he'd escaped from the 'Shrek' movies.
It was an enjoyable film, and I can see it turning into a christmas movie for me, time will tell.
After the film we went to JC and Sol's place, pigged out on Pizza and crisps, talked and watched some telly. Was very nice. Suddenly it was half past twelve and I figured that since it took at least 20 minutes to get back to my place I should get going. So I go out, and start walking the wrong way... turn around find out I'm on the right path, get confused and end up hailing a cab and paying 7 pounds to get home, no biggie, it was worth it. :)
It is sad however that I've been at their place 4-5 times now and still haven't gotten the way back to my place figured out yet. Hehe, anyways, had loads of fun.

Think that's it for now. I wanna thank everybody who helped me find info for my essay. I've finished it and all your info helped a lot! *huggles you all*
Now I've started my production essay... 4000 words about nothing. ;P
Got 277 words so far, so that's a start, have gotten Firefly a mention in there so far... with regards to inspiration. Will try to include some of my other favourites, just so I can write a bit about stuff I actually know. ;)

Oh! I almost forgot! Remember that I mentioned that Take That are getting back together? I also posted some of their old music HERE if you want to have a listen.
Anyways, they're going on tour, and I made an off hand remark about it when I was at JC and Sol's yesterday. Suddenly Sol's face lights up and she says 'it would be fun to go', I say it would be fun to just put that 'childhood' dream to rest. I remember being so pissed when my parents wouldn't let me go to Sweden for their last concert... seing as I was about 13 at the time I understand them now. Anyways, somehow Sol and I agree we're going to their concert at Wembley Arena in may! Then I see JC thinking a bit and he mentions he has time off, so we just look at him a bit, and now he's coming too! AH! So much fun! I've never been to a 'real' concert. Just Hit Awards 1999 in Oslo. I feel like a kid again, seriously. I'm still waiting till we book the tickets before I get all fired up, but just the thought is good for now. It's not just the concert, but the fact that both JC and Sol wants to join me! Am very happy.

Ok, I'll have finish now, have to write a little more, and pack. I'm going home in 4 days!!!
Have a nice one people!

Just thought I should give a little rundown of what's going on.

On sunday I was at the movies with JC, using my free pass. :D

We saw 'Sky High', which was actually rather amusing. It is a simple film, but we both enjoyed it. It's like the kiddie vrs of X-Men.

Afterwards we saw 'Domino'. Here's the review I posted on IMDB:

I was bored out of my mind. I am very happy I saw this movie for free.. if I had paid, I'd want my money back. I was bored out of my mind, I usually like movies like this, but this film took itself to seriously, and kept trying to be artistic, and if I had to hear 'my name is Domino Harvey' one more time I would have gone crazy. There is a sex scene as well in the film that doesn't belong at all, it just seemed very cheap, and there was no reason for it at all. Especially not at that point in the film. I feel the movie was just an excuse to put Keira Knightley in skimpy outfits and have her shoot a gun. There are also some sub plots that are didn't need to be included to the extent they were, the movie is way to long and as I mentioned above it takes itself waaay to seriously.

After the movies we went and bought some dinner and went back to the house. Ended up watching the musical episode of "Buffy the Vampire Slayer", which JC seemed to enjoy a lot. :D I think I'm turning him into a Joss Whedon fan.

Monday was a quiet day. I tried to get started on my school work, but couldn't get inspired. Benedicte finally arrived, though we kept missing eachother, finally caught up right befor dinner. Was great to see her again, and it looks like she'll be staying here at the house the rest of the school year. :D

In the evening we were a bunch of people who went to the cinema to watch 'Wallace & Gromit in The Curse of the Were-Rabbit'. I had actually expected to hate it, but I just tagged along since I'd get it for free. I was pleasantly suprised, had a good laugh. I really liked it. Helena Bonham Carter and Ralph Fiennes voice work was great.

In other news I'm taking a little trip to Poland this weekend. Leaving on Saturday coming back on Monday. Have to travel from Luton which kind of sucks, but it was the cheapest choice. The reason for my trip is that we've bought a small flat in Gdynia for our summer vacations, and mom is actually on her way down there now to get the paperwork in order, so I'm going there to visit her, and have a look at the flat. She'll be there for about two weeks, hehe, she'll actually get back to norway a day after me. It's actually the same flight, only, as mentioed, I'll get home the day before.

Two weeks till I get to home! Hurray!

What else? Oh, yeah. The bitch teacher moved me from Wednesday class to Friday, so I'll be missing two of the sessions in that subject since I'd already booked my plane tickets. Well, bah on her. Turns out the classes I'm missing are not that important with respect to my part in the project, but I'm still not happy about it.

Think that's about it for now, will hopefully write some better reviews of the movies later. ;)

Hihihihi *giggle*

First off, wanna thank the people who helped me with ideas for my pitch! Have something to work with now. :D

Now... to the happyness, it's SERENITY DAY!!!
Am going to see 'Serenity' in a little over an hour... or.. we're leaving in little over an hour. *hyper bouncing*. JC and I are going, have done my best to advertise for the film and series here at the house, and even at school. :D

Have watched 'Firefly' all day. :D

Have a bad feeling I won't like the movie, but I always feel that way before a movie I've really been looking forward to!

Serenity!

You can't take the sky from me!

Yes, I am a mite hyper right now.
