Have been watching a lot of stuff recently, and wanted to do some mini-reviews.
Movies:
I hadn’t really intended to watch this, but the TV was on that channel while I was cleaning, so it ended up getting me to follow the story.
This movie definitely goes on my weird-shelf, but on the higher end as I actually enjoyed it. At first I had no idea what to make of the story, as it’s not entirely clear where the movie’s going. I’ll have to admit it was kind of bizarre watching Adam Sandler in a role like this, but I liked it, and I really hope he’ll do more stuff like this, more serious films.
Most of you have probably seen these by now… but I had to.
I still very much enjoy these films. The first one was hugely responsible for getting me into the horror genre, which is why I’ll probably always love it. The sequels do sadly suffer from what befalls most sequels, a drop in quality. They’re still a fun ride though.
Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen
TV-Shows:
I had to see what all the fuss was about. I’ve seen four episodes so far, and it’s a fun show, don’t know if I’ll be calling it great anytime soon, but it’s definitely enjoyable. Personally I don’t really think the show needs the whole conspiracy storyline, as following Betty in her daily trials is entertainment enough for me.
Lost, season 3
I’ve only seen 2 episodes so far, but it’s failing to impress me. The series seemed to be picking up the pace a bit at the end of last season, so I was hoping they’d finally get back on track. The insistent focus on Jack is driving me a little nuts, he is rather a boring character, and they have many others to choose from. I just find it kind of weird that a character that was supposed to be killed off in the first episode is getting this much focus.
Story wise I feel that the writers really have no idea where they’re going with this. They need to go learn something from Joss Whedon and Eric Kripke about how to plan out a story arch for a TV series. Hopefully they’ll start tying up loose ends soon and focus on finishing this show.
Dexter: Truth Be Told (#1.11) & Dexter: Born Free (#1.12)
Wow, a great way to end the first season of a wonderful show. Rolling in the threads of the major storyline, while leaving a few out there for the next season.
I loved the way it wrapped up; the big reveal was something I kind of suspected earlier, so it didn’t come as a very big surprise. I keep wondering how next season will turn out, with regards to the things that are still in the air.
Someone on my flist was really looking forward to this show, I never heard anything beyond that, but figured I’d check it out when it started airing over here.
I’m not overly impressed by it, I keep feeling like they’re building up some huge conspiracy and the reveal will be disappointing no matter what they do. Also I don’t really care about any of the characters, not enough anyway.
Shark
This show is great, finally a serious lawyer show. James Woods is great in this role, cocky, ruthless and funny. I’ve only seen a few episodes, and there have been a few interesting things introduced, am really curious to see how this series will progress.

I'm so happy you gave 'Shark' a try. It's not one of my favorites, but I really enjoy it. And I adore James Woods. About the similarities with 'House M.D.', that was something I noticed on the very start (on my own, mind you - later, when I wanted to check out what is the general Net assessment is, it was quite funny to discover that practically everyone else thought the same way), but the feeling disappears pretty soon, even before the middle of the season. At this point the show already has its own identity.
And don't you think that Sam Page is very very pretty?
I think 'Numb3rs' gets much better with every passing season. I think it was seaosn 2 when I got really pulled in.
They keep pushing how math will make it easier to solve crime, yet I keep thinking that the way it’s put forth it’s way to easy. It might help in some areas, but it keeps ending up being the key and that element is bugging me.
You are not alone there. Especially that sometimes it looks like the FBI would be totally clueless were it not for the genius little brother. Come on, show, give those guys a bit more credit, they are professionals, they have their ways too.
That said, I still think 'Numb3rs' is a very entertaining show and the characters are really quite great.

Ugly betty, I like that show. It´s fun, and also a show where you don´t have to do a lot of thinking.
Lost, I always miss it, so I have no idea since that´s a show you really have to follow to get it. I want them on DVD thought.

Scream on the other hand is another story.
Scream 3, remember seeing that in the theatre? hehe.

Besides Betty and Dexter, I still haven't watched the other shows.
I watched Drama Queen with Lourdes some time ago. Yes, it was painful.
The first Scream film was great. It brought all the movie cliches and made fun of them in a clever way. Too bad the two sequels were so horrid.

Haven't seen many of these, and it's so long ago since I've watched Scream. Didn't quite get all of them at the time. Then again, I hadn't seen most of the movies they were parodying.
Confessions was ok, not the best I've seen though, but it had small parts I liked.
