Quick question

I'm writing a fic. Like my other attempts it will probably never see the light of day, but got inspired and decided to give it a go.
Anyway, I have a question. How long would someone have to be in a coma for them not to be able to move their arms when they woke up? I've seen different shows where it only takes a week, while in other shows they jump out of bed after a year in a coma.
Question two is the same, but in relation to surgery. How invasive or serious would the surgery have to be for someone not to be able to move more than maybe tehir neck and fingers when they wake up.
When I was a kid and had my tonsils out I was pretty weak for a long while, actually longer than was normal, so I dunno.

Will continue doing my own research, but if any of you have any idea, or would just like to speculate, please do.

My guess is, few months. Few months in coma make person not to be able to move. But I'm not a doctor.

Is it Supernatural fic?

Anwer to your questions:
Coma: They would probably wouldn't be able to move their arms the first 3-4 weeks. Depends on how much rekovalesens (husker ikke hva det heter på engelsk) they get when they wake up.
When I removed my appendix I couldn't move my head to the side because of the dizzyness and nausia. That was when I woke up after surgery, and it took me a good 2 days before I was up on my feet trying to walk.
So I'd say from 2 days to a week, depends on the surgery. Hope it helps!

Whas what I was thinking, but wasn't sure. Think that's what I'm going for anyway.

Yeah, but I've already started to leave it alone, so I doubt it'll develop much further.

You mean 3-4 weeks after waking up or after 3-4 weeks in a coma?

Yeah, I was thinking something like that.

Thanks

I mean after 3-4 weeks of waking up. When in coma someone else moves your limbs.. so they won't get stiff.

Okay, that's helpful too.
Though I was thinking how long they'd have to be in a coma for them not to be able to move.

Not really important anymore as my muse ran away.
