Random silliness

Was just bored, and thought I might as well update my journal.

Had [livejournal.com profile] beluga over tonight, we just talked and saw Swordfish. Can someone please explain to me why they don't like this movie? I get that it's not the greatest movie in the world, but what I don't really get is the full-on resistance it has received.
A friend of me said he was disappointed that the big bang was in the beginning of the movie, now I must admit that the beginning monologue and the explosion had sucked me straight in the first time I saw the movie, but I also like how it plays out.
Some might say that it was released at a poor time, few days before 9-11, but I think the questions raised by this movie has become more and more relevant in the latter years.
People have a right to their opinions, and I'm not gonna go on a crusade about this. My point is that I like this movie, and that it gets me thinking.

"Not everything ends the way you think it should."

Now, on to the silliness:

*~*~*Claim Your Wings - Pics and Long Answers*~*~*
brought to you by Quizilla

You are a PHOENIX in your soul and your wings make a statement. Huge and born of flame, they burn with light and power and rebirth. Ashes fall from your wingtips. You are an amazingly strong person. You survive, even flourish in adversity and hardship. A firm believer in the phrase, 'Whatever doesn't kill you only makes you stronger,' you rarely fear failure. You know that any mistake you make will teach you more about yourself and allow you to 'rise from the ashes' as a still greater being. Because of this, you rarely make the same mistake twice, and are not among the most forgiving people. You're extremely powerful and wise, and are capable of fierce pride, passion, and anger. Perhaps you're this way because you were forced to survive a rough childhood. Or maybe you just have a strong grasp on reality and know that life is tough and the world is cruel, and it takes strength and independence to survive it. And independence is your strongest point - you may care for others, and even depend on them...but when it comes right down to it, the only one you need is yourself. Thus you trust your own intuition, and rely on a mind almost as brilliant as the fire of your wings to guide you.You are eternal and because you have a strong sense of who and what you are, no one can control your heart or mind, or even really influence your thinking. A symbol of rebirth and renewal, you tend to be a very spiritual person with a serious mind - never acting immature and harboring a superior disgust of those who do. Likewise, humanity's stupidity and tendency to want others to solve their problems for them frustrates you endlessly. Though you can be stubborn, outspoken, and haughty, I admire you greatly.

Elijah's song:
Elijah Wood - Gone.
It's from Viggo's album; Pandemoniumfromamerica. It's pretty simple, he just repeats the same line over and over for a while. Has kind of a pshyco-feel to it. ;)
I've already posted a link to the other song of the album that Elijah and Dom song together, it can be found HERE, at the bottom of the page.

Viggo's Prank Call. (From TheOneRing.Net)
Thanks to everyone who sent in this quote from People Magazine: The Lord of the Rings crew (including Elijah Wood, Sean Bean, Peter Jackson, and Dominic Monaghan) celebrated their best-picture win at the New Line party by calling Viggo Mortensen- tending to family business elsewhere in L.A.- collect. "He accepted", said Monaghan. "We gave him a whole load of abuse and then hung up on him."

They really are easily amused, aren't they?

LOTR Dating Manual.
(Taken from AlterNet.Org)
-When you're trying to catch the cute guy's eye is the exact moment the dwarf will pick to approach you.
-Eating raw fish is no longer a sign of a sophisticated date. (That said, you have to admit the Atkins plan is working for Gollum.)
-If you're the only girl among 100 guys you'll still fall for the only one who has a girlfriend.
-When overused, terms of endearment such as "precious" lose their meaning.
-All couples fight, but battles shouldn't last so long that one of you has to get up and stretch your legs or use the bathroom.
-It doesn't matter if you look like Liv Tyler; your pining and whining will still get on people's nerves.
-Don't blame your friends just because they can see right through your creepy little partner.
-If you can get along on a road trip, the relationship will probably last.
-There will come a point when it seems like the relationship should be over. Don't drag it out. Just end it there.

And finally, the mother of all dating wisdom:
Some people will go to any lengths to get a ring; others, having had one for
awhile, will go to any lengths to chuck it into a volcano.

Ok, that'll have to be it for today, still not tired tho. I'll just go read.
