I've been working for well over an hour on a post and the page crashes! AAAAAAAAARG! I'll jump to the last part as I can't bother to start writing it all again now. Saw Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire yesterday. I found it rather boring... the worst of the four. No suprises, nothing really exiting and Voldemort looks like a fish! Will write more later...

Was rather annoyed.
Think I'll try to repost it later, just write it a bit shorter.

Yeah... I mean, I'm not a big Potter fan. But the previous movies at least kept me entertained and interested throughout.

I'm guessing you like Bon Jovi.

Wasn't LJ but my Explorer...fucking crap. Must remember to write longer posts in word first.

Voldemort looks like a fish

[sniggers]

Somehow I expected no better of the latest installment in the Potter horror. [sniggers again]

Now, I will stop being mean.

Check maintenance. They're having a big data transfer and it messes up posting entries and comments. Have a rant at them. :)

Now isn't that amazing. I just saw the movie tonight and I thought it was terrific. I loved the director, the score, the kids' acting has improved, and I thought the CGI was great. But I agree with you about Voldemort....he did look kind of like a fish, now that you mention it. :>D There are never any surprises in these movies for me because I've read all six books.

Regarding your lost update. I learned that lesson the hard way and now do all my entries in Word, too -- even the photo inserts with their codes -- before I post them in my LJ. Naturally, the update I lost was the longest one I'd ever written. But I definitely learned my lesson.

I agree with you that the kids' acting is much better now than the other films, and like you I've read all the books. Waiting "patiently" for the other films and the last book.
Voldemort did look like a fish!

Have you seen it?

However Lj isn't sending all the comment replies to my e-mail anymore..

Well, the world would be boring if everyone agreed. ;)

I think the movie suffered under new direction and scor to be honest. The kids are doing better, yes. But Radcliffe is still no great actor. And the french girl was horrible.
The fact that I haven't read the books might be playing a part in my critique, but to some level I think that makes me a bit more objective... I dunno.

I should have learned to use word on long updates before, it's not the first time this has happened.

To be honest, when that boy died at the end and Harry brought him back and was crying I was more upset over the horrible acting from Radcliffe than the death of the boy... the whole scene bothered me though..

Just my two cents...

He did, didn't he? Is he described like that in the book, because that whole nose thing bugged me.

I don't remember how Rowling described Voldemort in the book, but Harry IS crying when he returns with the body of Cedric. Wether or not the acting was good, I got chills, but that was mainly because of the reaction of the crowd on their return..
Yvonne thinks "Ron" has grown more than "Harry", and thinks he looks better than Radcliffe. hehe

Do you happen to know who the rock group was that played at the Yule Ball? I read somewhere a while ago that it was a real band, but I can't remember anymore who the article said it was.

You're not kidding about Fleur. She was a terrible actress. And yes, Dan may never be a great actor, but he's gotten much better. I think Emma Watson and Rupert Grint are both better actors than Dan.

I think it helps to have read the books. There is a lot more background info and character development that's missing in the films. I always try to read the book before any movie comes out that's based on a book.

Yes, Potter-mocking never ceases to amuse me. XD
No, I haven't seen it. I hate Potter, with a passion. I thought books 1 & 2 stank, and I never bothered to read beyond that point. Liz made me watch the first movie, and it was so bad I wanted to cry. Do you really think I'd waste my money on anything Potter?

PS: I can tell from the way they translated the title of book 6 to Dutch that it is a Really Bad Translation. Somehow, this greatly amuses me. XD

No, it's lj's fault. They posted the reasons for it over at [livejournal.com profile] lj_maintenance. It goes for both comment posting and update posting, and it's because of the data transfer they're working on. That same transfer is also the reason why comment emails are sporadic.

Yeah, I know he's crying I just don't think Radcliffe did a good job in that scene.. you know I'm over critical of scsnes like that...

I have to agree with [livejournal.com profile] laraneia about Ron, he's grown more. I can't really be a judge of looks though...

She was wasn't she?

I think Emma and Rupert are the better actors without a doubt, Daniel is lagging behind, which is sad considering he has the lead role.

I usually read the books before I watch a film, or the other way around. But I dropped that idea after watching the first film.

I agree. In a way, Daniel reminds me of Orlando Bloom....not that they look alike, but because both are soooooo famous, yet neither one of them is a very good actor.

I read a magazine article about the actress who played Fleur. She has made quite a few films and is fairly well known in France. The article said she speaks English so well that she had to "learn" a French accent. It also said over 3/4 of her lines were edited out of the film. I guess she was originally supposed to have a lot more screen time that she ended up having.

I think Daniel's better than Orlando though, but I totally get the comparison. It's hard for me seing Daniel get much work after Potter's finished though.

She is? Seriously? Ah, well. There's no accounting for taste.

Daniel is in Australia now making a film titled "The December Boys." I'm very anxious to see him play a part other than HP. Unless he is very good in this film, I think you're right about him not getting a lot of other parts.

If I'm not mistaken, it is due for release in the US in July/August, 2006. Did you see this photo from the film?

I didn't want to post the actual pic because it's large and would stretch your page too much.
