I stumbeled over this in a Norwegian online paper, and found it a bit amusing. Now, I'm not a big fan of Daniel Craig as the new Bond, in fact I was very dissapointed by the choiche...
But anyway, here's the story:

Call for Worldwide Boycott of Casino Royale

Dateline: February 20, 2006 - An international group of lifelong James Bond fans
announced the publication of a new website, www.craignotbond.com, in order to
launch a boycott of the upcoming Bond film, Casino Royale. Chief among their
concerns is Bond producer Barbara Broccoli's questionable decision to fire popular
Bond star Pierce Brosnan and replace him with an unknown with a penchant for
oddball roles, Daniel Craig.

Ironic, since the original "Casino Royale" wasn't considered an actual Bond Film, even though just about everyone in that "comedy" was James Bond at one point!

Very true. But I don't quite understand why they fired PIerce, he was great as Bond.

He just bugs me, never liked the guy. Just something about him makes him unsympathetic in my eyes.
I'd much rather have Pierce back.

Oh i'd totally take Pierce back too! At least for one more. Well I think in this movie they're modeling after the Bond in the novels.. and he is quite a cold bastard there. Also more serious, lacking humor, and really not that good looking. Maybe that's why they picked him, lol.

I think they should have given him a chance to be a 'real' Bond.
I know he has a scar in the books... but I do believe he's supposed to look better than Craig...
