Lets see... I left off with last Tuesday, so it's on to Wednesday, and The Phantom of the Opera.
It was kind of a hectic day, so I ordered the tickets for the film. And we all managed to meet up in time to pick them up. It was isil80 ,
beluga and her sister and me. So we got our tickets and waited till we could get in to the screening, got in found our places, and were ready to enjoy the movie. Suddenly some girls come over and asks us if we're supposed to be sitting there, we all check our tickets, and find that we've gotten the same seat numbers as the girls. We called for the guy collecting the tickets and he had a closer look at ours, turned out we had gotten tickes for the screening on Thursday, which was totally ridiculous because I'd ordered them for that day. We were asked to leave our seats, which we did, until they could figure out if there would be any room for us. I was pretty pissed and kept telling him that we should have been informed of the date on the tickets. I'd been waiting to see this movie for over a month, so I had no inntention of leaving, if I had to sit on the floor in front of the screen I was bloody well doing it.
Luckily there were several free seats , so we didn't have to sit on the floor or wait until the next day. Yay! :)
I liked the movie very much. I never really knew much of what the story was or who the players were, all I knew was that The phantom had a thing for Christine, and that he wore a mask. Even though I felt at times that the movie was a bit long I really liked it, if only for the use of colors and settings. The black and white introduction was great, and when the theme started playing while the opera house transformed into its glorious former self was just brilliant. I loved the music, I've never been a big fan of musicals, when I was young watching the Disney flicks I could never understand why they suddenly burst into song, but I really liked Phantom.
I had my doubts about Gerard's singing ability, but that quickly evaporated, really liked his voice. I think everybody did a good job, and I liked the way things were done. Even though I sometimes felt things were a bit slow gowing I enjoyed myself very much. I didn't agree with all the insertions of the black and white scenes, the first and last one would have been enough.
I had my head full of things after seing it, might write a little more about it later...
Have to stop here for now, beluga just popped in. She has volunteered to answer the questions in this meme: Anyone can post a question for me and a close LJ friend has to answer it for you.
