roguem: (Supernatural - Snuggles)

I'm sorry it took so long, I really have no idea why, but I guess the hiatus was beneficial for me. ;)
So now I bring you my review:

Supernatural – 307 – Fresh Blood

  • I have to admit I was kind of disappointed to see Bela again so soon, but that was up until Gordon joined her. She wasn’t to good at hiding the fact that he scared her though.
  • I think Bela has turned into the character I love to hate which means that I like her, but will bitch about her as much as possible. We’ll see.

Gordon: Sam Winchester’s the antichrist.
Bela: Ooh. I’d heard something about that…
Gordon: It’s true.
Bela: …from the Easter Bunny. Who heard it from the Tooth Fairy.

  • For some reason it amuses me that Gordon refers to Sam as the Antichrist, and I really liked Bela’s response to it as well.

Bela: You make me an offer and you'll find me highly cooperative.
Gordon
: Hmm. How about you tell me where they are, or I shoot you?

  • Damn, that woman is cocky. Girl know when to make some fast cash, gotta give her that.

Gordon: I can wrangle up three grand.
Bela: I don’t get out of bed for three grand.

  • Ok, he has a gun to her head and she wants more money. I love the fact that she managed to annoy Gordon, which endears her to me somewhat.
  • I knew she’d find something she wanted, and I knew she would sell out the boys. Woman likes her cash.
  • Must say I liked the boy’s intro in this episode. Whenever it begins with them on a hunt I’m happy.
  • Damn, Dean cutting his arm.

Dean: Smell that? Come and get it! That's right, come on, I smell good, don't I? Taste even better. Come on, free lunch.

  • I got a little nostalgic for Wendigo when he referred to himself as food. On the other hand she got a little to close for comfort when she was going for his neck.
  • I kept looking at that female vampire, Lucy, thinking she looked a lot like Mercedes McNab, but figured it couldn’t be her. Until they had her tied up to the chair and there couldn’t be any doubt about it. Lol, that was just awesome casting. Girl’s doomed to play vampires for the rest of her life.
  • How old was Lucy supposed to be? Because I’m pretty sure Mercedes has passed her 30th birthday. My point being that it the whole 30 being old joke would have worked better if the actress was closer to 18 or something.
  • I loved the idea that this vampire was using the excuse of a hip new drug to turn people.
  • Now this is more like Sam, leaving the actual killing to Dean
  • I loved the part where Gordon and Kubrick visit Lucy’s victim in the hospital. They work kind of like a harsher and more brutal version of Sam and Dean. It was fun to see how other hunters handle that part of the job.
  • I know I’ve seen the Vampire-dude before.
  • I loved the look on the boys faces when they saw Gordon and Kubrick. Just awesome. And Dean leading them away from Sam was great too; his job is keeping Sammy safe.
  • I have to admit I didn’t quite get that the Vampire attacked Gordon at first, but it was only for half a second.
  • Aww, Sam is worried about Dean, but I would be too. I’d knock him upside the head if I were Sam for not even calling to let him know he was okay.

Dean: Well, what can I say? I'm a badass.

  • Yes, you are Dean, and that’s why we love you.
  • When it dawns on Dean that Bela was the one who told Gordon where they were, damn I loved it.

Bela: Gordon Walker paid me to tell him where you were.
Dean: Excuse me?
Bela: Well, he had a gun on me. What else was I supposed to do?
Dean: I don't know, maybe pick up the phone and tell us that a raging psychopath was dropping by?
Bela: I did fully intend to call. I just got a bit sidetracked.
Dean: He tried to kill us!
Bela: I'm sorry. I didn't realize it was such a big deal. After all, there are two of you and one of him.
Dean: There were two of them.

  • The fact that she thought it was only going to be Gordon is really no excuse for not warning them. Especially when she knows that Gordon intended to kill Sam.

Dean: Bela, if we make it out of this alive, the first thing I'm gonna do is kill you.
Bela
: You're not serious.
Dean: Listen to my voice, and tell me if I'm serious.

  • He was totally serious, he would have pulled out his gun and shot her point blank without a second thought
  • And I love the fact that she understood that and actually got scared.

Dixon: You're a big part of why my people are nearly extinct, Gordon.
Gordon: Your "people" are going extinct because you're a bunch of mindless, bloodthirsty animals.

  • When I saw that the vampire had kidnapped Gordon, I didn’t really know what to expect. Though part of me hoped he would actually turn him, I couldn’t quite see that happening. Part of me actually started expecting that the boys would save him and he’d have second thoughts about killing Sam, but I guess that would have been to easy.

Gordon: Daughters? Try fang whores.

  • When Gordon defies him, I knew what would happen, and I love that they went that route. Turning Gordon in to a vampire was probably the best route they could have taken with the character.

Sam: Vampire's still out there, Dean.
Dean: First things first.
Sam: Gordon.
Dean: About that, when we find him or if he finds us.
Sam: Yeah?
Dean: Well I'm just saying he's not giving us a whole lot of options.
Sam: Yeah I know...we gotta kill him.
Dean: Really? Just like that? I thought you would have been like; "No we can't, he's a human, it's wrong."
Sam: No I'm done. I mean Gordon's not gonna stop until we're dead... or until he is.

  • I was kind of surprised as well that Sam was ready to kill Gordon, but considering I really shouldn’t have been. I would have been ready to kill him long before the events in this episode.
  • I didn’t expect to hear from Bela again, but I’m glad she understood what kind of trouble she was in, and did something to help out the boys.
  • Gordon’s transformation into a Vampire was awesome. I loved every second of it… well up until he killed that poor guy.
  • I loved the scene where Dean and Sam find Dixon, and find out what happened to Gordon.

Dixon: I was desperate. You ever felt desperate? I've lost everyone I've ever loved. I'm staring down eternity alone. Can you think of a worse hell?
Dean
: Well, there's Hell.

Dixon: I wasn't thinking. I just...I didn't care anymore. Do you know what that's like? When you just don't give a damn? It's like...it's like being dead already.

  • I loved that exchange between Dixon and Dean, basically because Dean ought to understand Dixon’s motives better than anyone.
  • The scene between Gordon and Kubrick was good too.

Gordon: They turned me.
Kubrick: You know what this means.

Gordon
: It means you have to kill me. But not yet.
Kubrick
: What do you mean?
Gordon: You have to let me do one last thing first.
Kubrick: What?
Gordon: Kill Sam Winchester.
Kubrick: Gordon.

Gordon
: It's the only... it is the one good thing to come out of this nightmare. I'm strong, I'm faster. I can finish him.

  • I was expecting Kubrick to join Gordon in the hunt for Sam, but the scene played out in an awesome way. Gordon is so focused on killing Sam that nothing will get in his way.

Dean: It's like a giant haystack and Gordon's a deadly needle.

  • I probably would have opted for the same solution as Dean; keep Sammy hidden and safe and go out to find Gordon myself.

Sam: Dean you’re not going by yourself, you’re gonna get yourself killed!

Dean: It’s just another day at the office. It’s a massively dangerous day at the office.

  • I totally understand why Dean wanted to do it, and I doubt it was just a kamikaze-ninja thing.

Sam: You know what, man? I'm sick and tired of your old stupid kamikaze trick.
Dean
: Whoa, whoa. Kamikaze? I'm more like a ninja.
Sam: That's not funny.
Dean: It's a little funny.
Sam: No, it's not.

Dean: What do you want me to do, Sam, huh? Sit around all day writing sad poems about how I’m going to die? You know what, I’ve got one. Let’s see, what rhymes with "Shut up, Sam"?

Sam: Dude. Drop the attitude, Dean. Quit turning everything into a punch line. And you know something else? Stop trying to act like you're not afraid.
Dean: I'm not!
Sam: You're lying! And you may as well drop it cause I can see right through you.

Dean
: You got no idea what you're talking about.
Sam: Yeah, I do. You're scared Dean. You're scared because your year is running out and you're still going to hell, and you're freaked.
Dean: And how do you know that?
Sam: Because I know you!
Dean: Really?
Sam: Yeah because I've been following you around my entire life! I mean I've been looking up to you since I was four, Dean. Studying you, trying to be just like my big brother. So yeah, I know you. Better that anyone else in the entire world. And this, is exactly how you act when you're terrified. And I mean I can't blame you. It's just...
Dean: What?
Sam: It's just I wish you would drop the show and be my brother again. Cause... just cause.

  • That scene there! That! That was just one of the best scenes ever, and I have to say Jared did a very good job with it. Both of them did. It just sums up so much about their relationship as well as letting us in to a part of their childhood. It was just wonderful, and this is the kind of moment I have been hoping for, that they make some kind of peace with the whole thing. That Sam opens up about how he feels, and that Dean will finally take one step forwards admitting that he’s actually scared.
  • When Gordon called to get the boys to come to him I was getting a little stressed, because it was obvious they’d be walking into a trap. But the bastard had a hostage so the boys didn’t have a choice. And I love that, the fact that as soon as they realized he’d snatched some innocent girl they rushed to save her.
  • And as expected they get the girl, and Gordon manages to trap Sam, and is ready to go in for the kill. The red vision was cool, actually reminds me of a movie, but I can’t remember which.

Gordon: (to Sam, in the dark) You have no idea what I've faced to get here. I lost everything.. my life. But it's worth it. I'm hunting the most dangerous thing I've ever hunted. You're not human, Sam.

  • I was seriously stressed for Sam here, but also intrigued by how they’d chosen to shoot this. Moving closely to Gordon’s face, very cool.
  • As soon as the boys were separated I figured the girl had been turned. And I am happy they have the colt, but also a little disappointed because now this stuff is kind of easy to deal with.

Gordon: (to Sam) You got a lot of people fooled, but see, I know the truth. I know what it's like. We're the same now, you and me. I know how it is walking around with something evil inside you. It's just too bad you won't do the right thing and kill yourself. I'm gonna... as soon as I'm done with you. Two last good deeds. Killing you and killing myself.

  • Dean does his best to save the day, but gets knocked out. The final showdown was cool though. We all know what Sam did isn’t possible, but it was just too cool, so I’m letting that one slide.
  • I always thought Dean would be the one to kill Gordon if it ever came to that, but considering the circumstances I think Sam killing him was the right choice to make. Sam is able to face one of his demons, as well as showing Dean that he is able to take care of stuff like this himself.

Dean: (to Sam) You just charged a super-vamped-out Gordon with no weapon. That's a little reckless, don't you think?

  • Which in Dean speak means; I’m proud of you for killing that son of a bitch, Sammy.
  • Now for the closing scene. *takes a moment*

Sam: What's with the auto shop?
(Dean extends tool to Sam to fix the Impala)
Sam: You don't mean, you want...
Dean: Yeah, I do. You fix it.
Sam: Dean, you barely let me drive this thing.

Dean
: Well, it's time. You should know how to fix it. You're going to need to know these things for the future. And besides, it's my job, right. Show my little brother the ropes.

  • That is without a doubt the sweetest most naturally laid back scene in the entire series. I loved it, and I know the majority of you did too. It was just so real, and endearing. Both boys taking a step closer to accepting what’s coming. And for Sam to acknowledge that Dean might not make it out of his deal. It was a truly beautiful scene.
  • And on a fangirl note: I’d totally let Dean teach me about engines any day.
  • All in all I loved this episode, and can without a doubt say that it’s my favourite Vampire episode of the series, and definitely one of my fave episodes of season 3.
  • This episode just hit all the right cords, and I've been kind of longing for a proper end-of-episode-suspense-fight, so this was good. I really enjoyed it.
