A short update

Just thought I should give a little rundown of what's going on.

On sunday I was at the movies with JC, using my free pass. :D

We saw 'Sky High', which was actually rather amusing. It is a simple film, but we both enjoyed it. It's like the kiddie vrs of X-Men.

Afterwards we saw 'Domino'. Here's the review I posted on IMDB:

I was bored out of my mind. I am very happy I saw this movie for free.. if I had paid, I'd want my money back. I was bored out of my mind, I usually like movies like this, but this film took itself to seriously, and kept trying to be artistic, and if I had to hear 'my name is Domino Harvey' one more time I would have gone crazy. There is a sex scene as well in the film that doesn't belong at all, it just seemed very cheap, and there was no reason for it at all. Especially not at that point in the film. I feel the movie was just an excuse to put Keira Knightley in skimpy outfits and have her shoot a gun. There are also some sub plots that are didn't need to be included to the extent they were, the movie is way to long and as I mentioned above it takes itself waaay to seriously.

After the movies we went and bought some dinner and went back to the house. Ended up watching the musical episode of "Buffy the Vampire Slayer", which JC seemed to enjoy a lot. :D I think I'm turning him into a Joss Whedon fan.

 

Monday was a quiet day. I tried to get started on my school work, but couldn't get inspired. Benedicte finally arrived, though we kept missing eachother, finally caught up right befor dinner. Was great to see her again, and it looks like she'll be staying here at the house the rest of the school year. :D

In the evening we were a bunch of people who went to the cinema to watch 'Wallace & Gromit in The Curse of the Were-Rabbit'. I had actually expected to hate it, but I just tagged along since I'd get it for free. I was pleasantly suprised, had a good laugh. I really liked it. Helena Bonham Carter and Ralph Fiennes voice work was great.

 

In other news I'm taking a little trip to Poland this weekend. Leaving on Saturday coming back on Monday. Have to travel from Luton which kind of sucks, but it was the cheapest choice. The reason for my trip is that we've bought a small flat in Gdynia for our summer vacations, and mom is actually on her way down there now to get the paperwork in order, so I'm going there to visit her, and have a look at the flat. She'll be there for about two weeks, hehe, she'll actually get back to norway a day after me. It's actually the same flight, only, as mentioed, I'll get home the day before.

Two weeks till I get to home! Hurray!

 

What else? Oh, yeah. The bitch teacher moved me from Wednesday class to Friday, so I'll be missing two of the sessions in that subject since I'd already booked my plane tickets. Well, bah on her. Turns out the classes I'm missing are not that important with respect to my part in the project, but I'm still not happy about it.

Think that's about it for now, will hopefully write some better reviews of the movies later. ;)

Yaaaaay, have fun in Gdynia :D I was there only once, but Gdynia is great place. Coz - you know - Baltic Sea!! Need I say more? :D And in which city your mom was born? Gdynia or somewhere else?

I'm planning on having loads of fun while I'm there. :)
I believe she was born in Gdynia, that's where she grew up anyway.
Will be nice to go there this time of year, have a look at it without all the tourists.

Yeeesh! I sure hope the movies get better soon. As you said, at least you can go for free. I loved your review. I haven't read any good reviews of "Domino" -- everyone feels as you do.

I liked Sky High too, it was cute. I think i'll see *any* superhero movie, lol. Sorry to hear you didn't like Domino.. was actually wanting to see that. We tend to agree on most movies though.

'Sky High' was cute, and I do have a soft spot for hero movies as well. I think it's a good movie to show younger kids, and then after a while you can show them the 'X-Men' movies. ;)

'Domino' looks cool, but it was bad. I was bored after 10 seconds... I'm not a big Keira Knightley fan either so that might have played a part in my review, but the story was just corny... watch the trailer, much better. ;)

Hehe, JC is just a 'Serenity/Firefly' fan at the moment, am working on making him apprechiate Buffy as well...
I have to get into 'Angel' myself before I push that on him.
