I watched it in French Ext class, I wouldn't know how many French films are actually easy to come by here. I thought it was a cool film, tho.

Okay, each to her own. :) I'm generally not a big fan of the French films I've seen so far... though "Amelie" was okay, so was "Brotherhood of the Wolf".

Well, I watch a lot of French stuff b/o French Ext lessons AND a close friend who's half French (and also very much in Japan right now, but that's beside the point) and I'm actually beginning to get convinced that, hey- the French can make films. I liked Delicatessen, but then I have quirky taste. Wasn't too keen on Brotherhood of the Wolf, tho, but that was more because of the lame-ass CGI. I think you'd be interested to see 8 Femmes, tho, so see if you can rent it somewhere. Quite amusing. XD

The CGI really was lame ass, yes. But I liked the idea...

I like Japanese films as well, haven't seen many. Liked "Ringu", "Mononoke-hime" and "Battle Royale". Haven't seen many Japanese films though.

Haven't seen many Japanese films either, but they're hard to come by here, so no strange thing about that. I do like the Japanese and Chinese things I've seen thus far, tho... veddy pretty. ^_^

Batte Royale rocks. As beluga said it was a romantic movie about a bunch of teenagers butchering eachother. I really wan't the super-duper-special-edition-DVD

She also recomends Hero btw. I didn't like Crouching Tiger very much tho. Stylistically beautiful, but didn't care for the story.

I liked the 'survive the game, be arrested for homicide'-part most. XD

Haven't seen Hero yet, but am wanting to see it. I did like Crouching Tiger (as is seen by the DVD on the DVD shelf), obviously for stylistic reasons, but I also liked the story and characters.

My best friend Rick was here the past few weeks- he lives in the US- and he was amazed that he could get the special extra disk dvd here already. Especially because Holland's usually BEHIND when it comes to the release of films...
