Patrick Stewart Says X-Men 3 in 2005

The Bradenton Herald spoke to Patrick Stewart, aka Prof. Xavier in the X-Men films, about the third installment.
Despite Star Trek's continued success in syndication and on the silver screen, a younger generation of viewers knows Stewart best not as Captain Picard, but as Professor Charles Xavier, from the two blockbuster X-Men pictures, the latter of which opened in 2003.
"X-Men 3 should come out in 2005," Stewart said on the red carpet. During the discussion inside the theater he said he hoped the franchise continues for several more films.
He also said he won't be doing any more "Star Trek" films.


If this is true they'd better start crackig. According to what I read so far they only have the treatment ready. And only a few actors are signed.
I still hope it's true tho. :)

Yes please next year!! oooh! But yea nothing's really got off the ground yet so won't get my hopes up just yet. I just would love to hear bout which characters will get in!

Yeah, I mean I'm hoping, and I really wish it would come next year. But I've said it before, and I say it again: I would rather have them spend a little extra time on it actually making it good, than having a crappy one as fast as possible.

I agree.. I can't imagine them finishing that by next year and have it be decent. Patrick's being a tease.. ;P

Ok, let's do the math... it's february now.
Let's give them 6 months of pre-production, including script-writing.
4 months of shooting (know 2 months is normal, but I'm factoring in the effects). Then another 6 months of editing, (they might need more).

This brings us up to June 2005.
It could happen, and if they really are aiming for 2005, nobody ever said when in 2005 it would be released. They might be thinking a december release, which gives them an additional 6 months in connection to my equation.

I would love a December release, would give me a substitute for LOTR. ;P I'm actually started getting hyped... might be a bit early, could be the big bottle of coke I just drank tho. :P

Well if they wanna stay somewhat true to the comic-story, I guess White Queen might be an option. Question is if they really wanna throw in yet another telepath.
Thing is the rumors say that they're heading straight for the Dark Phoenix saga, and skipping the good vrs, which I understand, because it's just a more interesting story to put on the big screen.
Ian McKellen says he really wants to do a third one, so I'm curious to see how that'll work out.

They gotta have Ian! He's too good. :) And I agree the Dark Phoenix would be what they're aiming for. Would be fun to see her all evil too. I heard rumors bout White Queen too and maybe using the blonde actress from Mortal Kombat and Wedding Planner. My friend really digs her character too so I hope they do! She was even talking about being her for Halloween. :)

Hehe, My friend keeps dressing up like Jean Grey, she has something like the suit Jean wears in the museum in the beginning of X2, and wears in very often.
I'd really don't like the actress you mentioned for White Queen, I really hope she isn't their first choice. Then I'd rather have Finola Hughes back in the bad wig. Am hoping they will include White Queen tho.
Just wish they would get started already.

Yea just rumors.. *sigh*. Well I thought that actress comes off bitchy which would work for Emma, heh. But trying to think who else, hmm

Jean's outfit was pretty cool.. i'd wear that. You notice her jacket in the church has a Phoenix artwork? Only caught that from watching the X2 extras.

Just read in "Film" magazine that X3 will definatly be coming, and most likely be about Dark Phoenix.

I liked Jean's outfit as well. I did notice that there was something on the back of her jacket, but I didn't see whet until I watched the extras.
