Thought I'd write a little more about "The Day After Tomorrow".

In short I liked it. It wasn't a overly deep film, but it was the kind of movie fun I've been longing for for a long time.

I went with my mom, and was actually not expecting to enjoy myself to much, but from the first disaster I was squirming in my seat, in a good way that is.

It does have a few similarities with "Independence Day", does not have the same levels of humor, but is still spirited.

When mom and I left the cinema we were both gushing, I haven't had this much fun in the cinema in a long while. Now the big question is; would I have felt the same a few months ago? I honestly don't know, all I can say is if you liked "Independence Day" you'll like this.

It was great to see Dennis Quaid in a good role, hope it gives him a boost.

Jake Gyllenhaal was adorable. Mom fell in love with him, I just think he's über-huggable.

Ian Holm was as good as always, he is a serious actor, but he did have a little humorous glimt in his eye in this film.

There were some moments I really enjoyed...
SPOILERS:

Only two I can remember right now:

[A man suggested burning a bottle of alcohol to keep them alive.]
Terry Rapson: Are you mad? That's a 12-year-old scotch.
Instead the three men snowed in in a cabin in England, knowing that they are going to die, fill three cups with brandy, and have a toast:
The first two toast to stuff like life and evolution and stuff, the third guy raises his glass and toasts to Manchester United. Found it amusing... men and their soccer.

[After finding a bottle of penicillin with Russian written on it.]
Brian Parks: I found it!
Sam Hall: How can you tell?
Brian Parks: Because it says "penicillin" on the bottom.

The turbulence scene on the plane was good, when the oxygen masks fell down at the end. That would be my nightmare, but in the movie it was funny.

Oh, and the scene where the girl is trying to warm up Sam with her body, after the cold telephone call. I loved that, so sweet.

That's all I can think of right now, still have stuff flowing through my mind.
