The BIG update

roguemFinally had a chance to re-write my big update, split it into LJ-cut, so you're free to jump over stuff.
Last Friday.
Was at the Doctor’s last Friday and had that bite looked at. She couldn’t say what it was, but she was quick about prescribing some meds, coz she thought it looked bad. Only took 3 days with the meds and it was gone, so I’m happy.

beluga after her one-month journey to Jersey. She’d had a long journey and was tired, so I drove her home. Hung out there for a little while, before I headed home, she needed some sleep poor thing. Am happy to have her back home though.
I hate work!
Am so fed up with work! Basically wanna kill everybody there, or at least give them a good pounding. I wore white socks ONCE! And I get this message: “I want to remind you that the uniform requires black or dark socks.”
Nr.1: I understand getting the message if I wore white socks more than one time, but it was just ONE FRIGGIN time!
Nr.2: People can’t even see what kind of pants we’re wearing because of the high counters, how the hell are they gonna see what color our socks are?
HELLO!
Am happy I just have one more day, though I’m tempted do drop it.
Renting videos.
beluga stopped by on Tuesday. We were basically just complaining of how hot it was, so we decided to go out and rent “Subway”.
Drove in to town and had a look around. They didn’t have “Subway”, so we picked up “The United States of Leland” and “The Rundown” instead.
“The United States of Leland” was a rather dark and serious film, but I liked it very much. Made me think about stuff. I’d really recommend watching it! But don’t read the back of the cover, because it gives a wrong idea of what to expect.
“The Rundown” was a simple, rather cheesy movie. I did have some funny moments, but the biggest thrill I got from it was when Seann William Scott removed his shirt, now I’ve never found the guy attractive, but he does have a nice body.
Hellboy.
beluga , Isen, me and Camelia went to see “Hellboy” on Thursday. It was fun. I liked it, but there is something about that film that’s really bugging me, I just can’t put my finger on what it is.
beluga said that “Hellboy” did everything right that ”Van Helsing” did wrong. I can’t agree with that a 100%, maybe 93%, but not a 100%. To be honest I wouldn’t really compare the two.
There were some, as my friend Even would say, logical flaws. There was one of the crucial moments towards the end, and a choice, that didn’t make sense to me, with respect to some abilities one has. That didn’t make much sense did it? Ask me when you’ve seen the film and I’ll explain.
It takes second place to the X-Men movies, on my comic-book-adapted-movie list. It may also be the only one of the other comic-book-movies that I’ll end up buying on DVD.
A part of me feels like some of the characters were underdeveloped, but maybe a second viewing will help me with that. Baby HellBoy was adorable tho.
I might write a longer review some day, but not now. If you’ve seen it, please tell me what you think. This movie deserves a discussion.
Go West!
I’m going back west next weekend.beluga is joining me. Isen and Camelia came last time I went, so I thought I’d invite beluga this time. I haven’t been there in quite some time, 2 years or more, can’t really remember.
Have to visit my friend Ivy, and her little baby boy. I haven’t seen her in ages either, so it’s about time as well.
Will have to have a look around, maybe something will actually have changed. Maybe my old house isn’t dark blue anymore. Or another shop has closed down? :p Last time I got to show the girls all there was to see, and still had time to spare. We’re starting out later this time around, so maybe there’ll we won’t have too much “dead time”. I have some ideas about what to showbeluga , but I’ll have to think beyond the tourist stuff, or we’ll be done in 15 minutes. :p
Entrapment
Just saw “Entrapment”, it was okay. The ending bummed me out. This is another movie I wish they’d ended 5 minutes before it actually does.
Spoiler:
When Mac betrays Gin, I’d stopped right there. Send the cow off to jail, and let Mac run off with the full 8 billion… or how much it was. That would have been a much better ending. She’s been trying to trick him throughout the entire film, so it would only be right for him to trick her in the end. END spoiler.
