My trip to Poland
Jul. 13th, 2005 12:16 pmThought I should write a little bit about my trip to Poland, pictures included behind the cut.
Got up early. Like 5ish, got our luggage into the car, and made our way to the airport, checked in, and were ready to get on the plane to Copenhagen. Turned out there was something wrong with the plane, so after a long wait we got the message that the plane wasn't leaving and we should all head to the nearest desk and get rebooked.
isil80 and I had recieved some travel gifts from
beluga , which came in handy whilke we waited, a few rounds of yatzy and a complementary breakfast later, dad was still waiting in line. He had to stand in line for 2 1/2 hours before we got a new travel plan, insane. Anyways we checked in and were finally on our way to Copenhagen.
Got a free dinner there as well, thanks to mom, can't argue with a polish person.
After waiting some more in Copehnagen we were finally able to catch the plane to Gdansk. We arrived at our destination 5 hours behind schedule. There was a big welcome party there to greet us, so we had to get in two big cars to get to Gdynia and Aunt Krysia and Uncle Ben's flat. It was really nice to finally be ant our end destination, we were tired, but happy to be there. Aunt Krysia served us some food, including Strawberries, which I attacked straight away. We went to bed early that evening, were all pretty tired.
isil80 and I got up well rested and ready for action. We started the day easy, watching while mom got some new nails, looked pretty good. After dinner we went to the hairdresser.
isil80 , mom and I were going to get our hair cut, colored and basically just be pampered. Sat there for 3 hours and it was worth it. I felt really good afterwards, very happy with it, though I think the best change was
isil80 , she looks great with that cut.
Had a calm evening, went to Klif (a mall) and had some jummy, jummy ice cream. Went back to the flat where
isil80 and I relaxed and watched 'A Knight's Tale'.
Time for shopping! Went in to Gdynia and to Hallane, which is kind of a über-big market with clothes and food and such inside a big hall. Isil80 bought a t-shirt and a really pretty ring. I bought 2 t-shirts and a extremely comfy training suit (the actual term escapes me at the moment), so I was very happy, and I think my mom was happy that I actuall bought clothes.
When we were finished at Hallane we went to a big shopping mall called Batory (boat) and had some delisious ice cream.
Ended up watching 'The Frighteners' in the evening, loved the film.
Another calm day, but that suitet us fine. Had a stop at a little mall called Biedronka (lady bug), got some goodies. Handed some clothes in to a taylor so it would finally fit.
isil80 wasn't feeling well, so we had a quiet day at the flat. Wrote cards and watched the VIVA channel. I helped my aunt set the sound system on her DVD player, so now they have a propperly functioning surround system. We all sat down and watched 'A Knight's Tale', just to check out how the sound was working.
My turn to not feel to good, got my period, but decided to drug myself and hope it works. We headed to the local Tesco store, I went a little crazy and bought 'Dawn of the Dead ' and 'My Big Fat Greek Wedding' on DVD. I also bought the 'Knight Moves' DVD for
beluga as she is a Christopher Lambert fan.
After a little ice cream we decided to head over to Sopot. It's beautiful there, real summer town.
I love it there, really nice. Picture is of a new building, it's surrounded by old houses, so it stands out quite a bit, but I like it. Anyways, after dinner we headed back to the flat, because I wasn't feeling well. In the evening I just took it easy.
I was totally knocked out, feelt like crap. Isil80 had her nails done, green, and I had mine done, blue with stars and such.
<- My nails.
After the nail fixing,
isil80 and I saw 'The Adventures of Huck Finn' it's such a sweet film.
In the afternoon we went to a birthday party for one of our relatives, I have trouble keeping track. Was in the street where my mom grew up.

After the birthday party we went in to Gdyina and had a stroll on the molo, very nice. I bought a ring and we had some ice cream, jummy.

It was insanely hot, over 35 degrees celsius.
It was insane, we went to Gdánsk. I had made a poor choice in wardrobe, so ended up buying a new top and a pair of white 'pirate pants'. Felt much better after that. There was so much to see there, they have a whole bunch of amber-stands, I ended up with new amber ear rings and a amber necklace.
There were a lot of street artists and such in the streets there, rather amusing. There was even a pirate ship (as seen in the photo). It was a beautiful day, and after we'd gone around Gdánsk, we grabbed a taxi to Sopot. By then it had started to get a bit cooler, so we just took it easy and had a look around. We went down to the Sopot Molo. I ended up buying a necklace and some bracelets for
beluga. It was a quiet evening, had some ice cream before we headed back to the flat.
Another laid back day. We headed down to a tree-house-restaurant by the beach to have dinner. Had some very good food, chicken and chips, the round kind, was jummy.
Afterwars we walked about 2km down the beach to the Orlowo moli, sucky thing was that my period pain decided to hit again when we were about halfway, luckeliy I had some painkillers, so I took them and walked on. By the time we got there I felt a bit sucky, I had a sit down and some water, and after a little while I felt better.
We took it easy, had a look around before we headed to my mother's friend Teresa for cakce and berries, very tasty. There was a cat there who came for cuddles, cute. Was a quiet evening, no big hassle, the perfect end to a very nice day.
Another shopping trip at Hallane, very good, didn't find much, but I ended up with a skirt. I'm not a skirt person, but felt the need for a nice one I can wear in the summer, just in case. We had a look around,
isil80 bought a really cool Betty Boop purse. After the shopping we went to the Seabull Pub for dinner, they have really good food, I love that place.
Finished off the day with a shopping trip to a mall called Géant, I went a bit crazy, bought a mini suitcase, a bunch of candy 'King Arthur', 'South Park: Bigger Longer & Uncut' and 'Weekend at Bernie's' on DVD.
Actually didn't have any plans for the day, but we went in to the centre of Gdynia. Bought some magazines, had a look at some clothes. Ended up at a fancy restaurants, I had pierogy, very tasty, one of my fave dinner choices. Afterwards we went to Klif mall, I bought a new top and some knick knacks. Finished off the day at Teresa's for a barbeque, kitty was there again, very attention hungry.
Last day in Poland, had a calm day really. Had a quick trip to a small market, I bought some angel babies for some of my friends. Stopped by a cafe for some ice cream, sooo tasty. Headed back to the flat, Aunt Krysia made lasagna, was good. The it was time for
isil80 and me to head to the airport. Said bye bye to mummy and daddy, and then we were on our way back to Norway.
beluga was kind enough to pick us up at the airport. Had a quiet evening.

In short the Poland trip consisted of eating, shopping, eating and sleeping. Was without a doubt the best poland trip I've had so far.
isil80 and I had lots of fun.
