How I Met Your Mother is a half hour comedy, starring 5 people, including Alyson Hannigon (Willow from Buffy) and Neil Patrick Harris (he was Doogie Howser). Hard to describe - its a bunch of 20-somethings hanging out, while the main character looks for true love.
Invasion is a SF/Horror-ish cross, where after a hurricane in Florida, some of the locals start to act differently. Could be aliens, but even after 1/2 year, we don't know for sure. Stars William Fichtner, Eddie Cibrian, Lisa Sheridan, and Kari Matchett (who I loved in the Nero Wolfe series - I mean, *really* loved!!!!!!)
Threshold was just cancelled. It was definitely about an alien probe sent, which was 'xenaforming' people, and the "threshold team" is trying to halt the spread of the 'infection'. Less suspense than Invasion, but more science to the science fiction. Starred Carla Gugino and, among others, Data himself - Brent Spiner.
