From Variety Feb 5-11, 2007.

After a decent launch, the pressure’s on for the CW to begin carving out its identity.

With staples such as “Gilmore Girls” and “7th Heaven” anything but sure bets to return next fall, the newbie net needs to create shows that engender fierce loyalty from the net’s core 12-34 aud— and fill some potential holes.

One hopeful is “Reaper,” an hour about a bounty hunter who reclaims souls for Satan – an idea that seems like a good fit with “Supernatural” or even “Smallville.”

It’s easy to see the net giving the thumbs up to the sudsy Josh Schwartz-penned “Gossip Girl” as either a companion (or replacement) for “Gilmore.” And if “7th Heaven” goes away, family drama “Wild at Heart” seems a suitable feel-good replacement.

CW also has a rookie cop drama in the works, and was still expected to pick up a few more hours.

"Reaper" could be cool, am looking forward to checking that out, and pairing it with "Supernatural" seems like a good idea, however that depends on how "Reaper" will turn out.

According to my info, only The WB’s Gilmore Girls, Smallville and Supernatural are locks. UPN adds America’s Next Top Model, Everybody Hates Chris, Girlfriends, Friday Night Smackdown! and also probably Veronica Mars. Yes, the teen sleuth show has dreadful ratings, but it was Dawn Ostroff’s baby back at UPN and, as The CW’s new entertainment prez, she’s still emotionally tied to the so-so albeit critically praised. There is one piece of good news: The execrable Charmed will vaporize. (Damn them for replacing Shannen Doherty.) All the other highly watchable WB shows such as One Tree Hill, Everwood, the new Bedford Diaries and Pepper Dennis are in limbo. This really blows for the netlet’s loyalists (I confess I have the TV tastes of a 12-year-old girl. I still mourn Beverly Hills, 90210.) In the beginning back in 1995, the WB was planned as a dumping ground for Warner TV pilots and series that didn’t get picked up by the major networks. But, soon, The WB and UPN were bucking the network trend of going for the most eyeballs possible and instead targeting the younger 18-to-34 demographic and African-Americans

(Hope this is alright ^_^)

The important part:
The CW looks to have a winner in the still young and steadily improving WB thriller Supernatural, and its young stars Jensen Ackles and Jared Padalecki would make perfect poster boys for the new network.

^___^

Though from reading that article I feel badly for Veronica Mars fans. :( They expect to bring it over to The CW, but they don't expect it to survive.

/Off I go...

Went to the hairdresser today, am happy with the result, but would have liked it darker. Maybe next time. ;)
Been out to eat, that's about it today. But my mom and I spendt 3 hours at the hairdresser, so...
Hopefully there'll be some shopping in the cards tomorrow.

On tuesday I had a good day, got a msg from Isen asking if I wanted to hang out. So i went, was there until 17:30. Saw the "Smallville" episode with Christopher Reeve, was ok. Afterwards we saw "Where the heart is" with Natalie Portman, was very cute.
When I got back home I just took it easy for a while, tried out my "X-Men" game on the Play Station, was cool. I used Wolvie to beat the crap out of Gambit, amusing.
[livejournal.com profile] beluga  dropped by in the evening, we just dropped on the couch and watched some TV, she stole my chocolates! ;P We saw "Bend It Like Bedkham", very cute movie. Afterwards we saw "Friends".
All in all a pretty easy going day.

Yesterday was "help-mommy-day". Went to the store and bought a whole lot of food. Then I had to go buy coffee and peal the potatoes. Was ok.
We took a break and watched "Gilmore Girls", Isen dropped by to hand over some cash so I can get some stuff for her in London. She left and I  did a little work on my homepage.
I the evening she dropped by again, we tested the "X-Men" game. Then we drove to the cinema, met up with [livejournal.com profile] beluga . We saw "Hidalgo". Was an oki movie, my main complaint is that it was rather slow paced, might have been a big hit a couple of decades ago. The acting and imagery was very good though. The biggest kick I got was the "Van Helsing" trailer before the movie began. :) Must admit it made me like horses a little better, had about a month when I was a kid where I was horse-crazy, but then I lost interest and couldn't figure out what the big deal was.

Today I had some stuff to do for my mom as well. Went to the pharmacy and the post office, and took the dog to the vet.
I worked a little more on my homepage, decided to stay in today as my asthma was bugging me.
Made spaghetti and saw "Finding Nemo" with my mum.
