Weekend happenings
Feb. 23rd, 2005 10:19 amHad a nice weekend, thought I'd write a bit about it, not often I get a whole weekend out. ;P
Had a quiet friday actually. Ended up watching Man on Fire with some of the girls here at the house. I've seen it before, but that was at like 5 a.m. so this time I got a little more out of it. It's a good film, if only a bit long.
Saturday started out quietly, sent a message to Benedicte asking if she wanted to do something. Didn't get an answer so was getting ready for a quiet Saturday as well. Went to the shops for some goodies, when I got back Benedicte and Nina were here at the house, they'd been in the area and just popped by. JC had been temping at the office and running around trying to find me for them. Kind of amusing just meeting them in the door like that. I showed them around the house and my room. After I'd eaten a quick dinner we headed out, were going to go to the cinema. On the way they decided that I would sleep over at their place, so I had to stop by Boots and buy a toothbrush, then we headed for their flat had some food and were on our merry way to the cinema. We were going to watch In Good Company, but the tickets were sold out while we were in line, so we ended up watching The Aviator instead. It was a very well made film, but the story didn't really grasp me, and not really getting all the praise Leonardo DiCaprio got for the part, but that might just be me.
When we got back to Benedicte and Nina's flat we watched the last part of Thelma & Louise with Benedicte's sister. Just goofing around and talking, not really doing anything productive, but it was fun. Benedicte made a pizza from scratch with what she had in the fridge, was really good. So we were standing in the kitchen at 2 a.m. eating pizza and talking. Was all in all a very nice evening.
Didn't really sleep to long, was up at a reasonable hour. We just continued the chatting and fun from the previous evening. Had a run to Starbucks for some breakfast and such, had a chicken sandwich and a hot chocolate, was really good. I left them in the afternoon and hurried back to the house, freshened up and went downstairs for dinner. There was a christmas dinner. Kind of weird in February, but they had to get rid of the leftovers, was very good, they even had my fave. Afterward there were games and such in the living room. I even had to join in on one. We had to twirl a piece of string, with a wrapped chocolate piece, around our tongue and get the chocolate in my mouth before any of the others. Weird, but I won! ;P Was a funny evening. Ended up talking with JC and some other people most of the evening.
All in all a very pleasant weekend. This coming weekend I'm joining JC and Sol to watch some films, we're going to rent The Grudge, and some other films. Will be fun. :)

Date: 2005-02-23 06:32 pm (UTC)I also hated the way the story was structured. It just randomly started somewhere, and randomly ended somewhere. There was no real clue or anything, it just stopped. His insanity was badly explained as well, and... God, that film was LENGTHY. I felt like I'd sat through the entire LotR trilogy at the end, only it was a bad movie, not three good ones...

Can't get anything right.
Not still holding a grudge for not nominating Sean Astin in 2004, oh no, not at all.(no subject)

I have lost all faith in the Academy, it's a bollocks award show.
