Jun. 24th, 2007 12:50 amX3 Pushed Back; New Director?
Jun. 12th, 2004 07:36 pmDon't start the panic just yet, but we've recieved some news which could possibly change the original ideas for X3 so far. The film, which is slated for a May 2, 2006 release could possibly be pushed back and could it even feature a new director?
X1/ X2 director, Bryan Singer is set to start production of his latest epic sci-fi film for Warner Bros., LOGAN'S RUN in Vancouver. According Hollywood North Report, the film set to run through production Spring 2005.
According to past comments by X1/X2 producer, Lauren Shuller Donner, X3: X-MEN was set for production in Spring 2005 for a May 2006 release. If this is still true, then that would mean that Bryan Singer would have to rush over to production for the third X-Men film, but would he even have much time to prep for it, since post production of LOGAN'S RUN would run through the Summer also?
The is causing rumors around the net that Bryan Singer may possibly be replaced for the third and return for a fourth film...or 20th Century Fox just might push the X3 production back, which would cause a big change in the final release date. Stay tuned as we'll try to update you further on this situation.
Noooooooooooo! *Cries*

X2.5 DVD Coming? A Possible Outlook
Feb. 7th, 2004 12:39 pmIt begs you to wonder if FOX will be releasing another X2 DVD somewhere down the line? While nothing's confirmed just yet, there's lots of extra things that can be included in a future release, and double DVD's seem to be a new trend.
We expect X2.5 to be released around the holidays before the release of X3...just like with X1.5. Not only is it a good marketing strategy, the studio knows that fans will be desperate to get any extra goodies that they missed out on, to hold them until the next film. Here's an outline of some things notably missing from the original X2 DVD release, and what we want to see.
Gag-Reel (Clean/ Unedited Version)
Gambit Cameo
TV Spots, 3 TV Specials
Press Conference Footage
Screen Tests: Aaron Stanford, Daniel Cudmore
Wishful thinking: Cast Commentary

GAMBIT the movie?
Feb. 7th, 2004 12:33 pmNo further info besides "Gambit is getting his own film" was given. X1/X2 Producer, Lauren Shuller Donner already announced in the past that the WOLVERINE spin-off was hoping to begin development around the same time as X3, but she never gave any clue towards GAMBIT...or did she?
In a previous article a few months back, she mentioned: "I have a great idea for Gambit, but I can't say what it is." His cameo scene was also mysteriously cut from the final print of X2. Could there be good reasons for this? Will FOX/ MARVEL follow X3 with solo character spin-offs? Or is this just a clever rumor?
Stay tuned.

Lots of X-Men News
Nov. 25th, 2003 08:15 pmTV Guide talked to X-Men movies director Bryan Singer about the newDVD and also X-Men 3. Here's a few snippets:
TVGO: What's your favorite line in the film?
Singer: I love when Ian McKellen says to Patrick Stewart, "You should have killed me when you had the chance." Because if he had just done that, none of the problems in X-Men 1, X2 or maybe even X3 would've happened.
TVGO: So give me a little something more about X-Men 3.
Singer: I just did. You're not hearing it. "You should have killed me when you had the chance."
TVGO: Magneto comes back again?
Singer: (Coyly) I don't know about that...
TVGO: Are there certain characters you just couldn't make the movie without?
Singer: Yes. Not all the characters, but there are a few that I wouldn't want to make it without.
TVGO: Hugh Jackman, obviously?
Singer: Yeah.
X2: X-Men United DVD Xtreme Desktop Online!
A new Xtreme Desktop for the X2: X-Men United DVD is now online! The Desktop features over 40 wallpapers, each telling a story based off of it's DVD Disc chapter - you can also view full mode videos of the movies most exciting sequences (Whitehouse, Bobby Drake's house, Air Attack, Trouble at the Mansion and more) all this in a great 3D Xd framework wrapper.
Lauren Shuler Donner on Constantine & X-Men 3!
Variety has published an excellent interview with producer Lauren Shuler Donner about the X-Men franchise and more. Here's a clip about Constantine and X-Men 3... Fans also have been vocal about "Constantine," whose comicbook premise of a chain-smoking, hard-drinking con artist and occultist with real magical knowledge is about as far removed from superheroes as you can get. Aficionados' foremost concern is the recasting of the comics' very English John Constantine as an American. But Shuler Donner, who believes fans will be happy with Reeves, says the character's bad attitude and irreverence has survived intact. "It's extremely close in spirit. John Constantine is a really unique character because he walks the line between good and bad, between hell and heaven. He doesn't care if he's liked."
After "Constantine", Shuler Donner plans a short break from comics to do the drama "The Secret Life of Bees" and then is back for "X3". For the third installment, she wants to include a loquacious, blue-furred scientist called the Beast and a sequence in the "X-Men's" training center, the Danger Room.
When Might X-Men 3 be Heading for Theaters?
X3movie.net has an interesting update on when Fox might be targeting X-Men 3... While major meetings have yet to really pick up on the third X-Men film, 20th Century Fox is currently eyeing these months for 2006: May, June, December...though this is only tentative.

Wolverine fans rejoice!
Sep. 29th, 2003 12:16 pmX3-Movie tells us that 20th Century Fox wants to sign a two-picture deal with Hugh Jackman. Here's a snippet:
We've just recieved word, that 20th Century Fox is looking to sign a two-picture deal w/ X2 actor, Hugh Jackman. Although few of X2's actors are slated to return, Hugh is the only original cast member, that is being offered a new deal, for two films. Though the exact price is unknown, we hear that the full price would equal to around $20 million. The two-picture deal would include X3, and a WOLVERINE spin-off film. Or, should Wolverine not appear in X3, then it would go towards two WOLVERINE films!
*Does a little happy dance.*
Hehe!
