Had a quiet weekend after all the action on friday.
Been working really hard on those X3 icons, got 258 bases to do something with. Yeah, I went a bit crazy there, lol.
Have been doing stuff around the house, being all housy and stuff. Think I'm doing okay. Hehe.
Sunday was pretty dead, son't really remember much of what I did, went to the shop and bought milk and pasta, oh the things I saw on that quest. In the evening I was online chatting. Watched 'Ella Enchanted' It's a very simple movie, but I enjoy it. After the film I ended up discussing Supernatural with [profile] ajali, how the guys relate to eachother, and how the boys are with their father and vice versa. Another reason I love the show, so much depth and possibilities for discussion.

Yesterday kind of went quickly. Didn't do much during the day. Going through my flist, and doing stuff around the house. In the evening I drove into the city and met up with [personal profile] beluga, we headed over to the rental place and had a look around. None of us were really inspired to pick out a movie, usually when we go in we find so many we have to cut it down. Yesterday we just walked through the place having no clue. She asked me if there was anything we missed in the cinema, and all I could come up with was 'Saw 2', I didn't think they had it in, but [personal profile] beluga found it. Not far from it, they had 'Jarhead' too, which was one of those movies we kind of wanted to see, but weren't sure, but we got it anyway.
Stopped on the way back for some goodies, and settled in for some movie magic. We started with 'Jarhead'. And I have to say I really liked it, and that's saying a lot as I usually can't stand war movies. However I really liked this one, maybe because it was more about the people than the war. The cinematography was wonderful, really stunning. The actors all did a wonderful job. How did this movie or it's actor not get any kind of Oscar nomination? I know the film fared better outside the US than in the US, I kind of get it as it doesn't really show a positive view of the american army, but come on, it's not like we believe all the propaganda stuff either. Long story short, I really enjoyed this film, and it might actually end up in my DVD collection at some point.
Afterwards we threw  'Saw 2' in the DVD player. I had expectations to this film, as I really like the first one, but it didn't quite hit the same level as the first. I liked the idea of the setup, but I didn't feel the same kind of dread and uneasyness as during the first one. I was stressed, but it never quite managed to peak. The revelation at the end didn't grab me like in the first one. However I did enjoy it, it works well as a scary movie, I might actually say it would have benefitted from being a bit longer, letting us know a little more about the victims.

After the films, [personal profile] beluga and I just sat talking was nice. It's not long till we go to Poland so we discussed a little bit about stuff we could do while we are there. Will be loads of fun, yay.
Okay, about the cards, apparantly I haven't recieved all the mails, so if you want a card, leave a comment here and e-mail me.

Somehow my dad and I actually managed to install the new connection and everything yesterday. Think it's a first for this family that something like that has been done without any major trouble.
However our wireless connection doesn't work anymore, and we don't really know how to fix it. The computers find the signal and connects to the internett, but no info gets sent either way, so we can't surf the net. The 'status' light on the box isn't on, so I'm pretty sure that has something to do with it. Anybody have any ideas or tips they wanna share, as to what we can do to fix it?
All this means as of now is that I won't be able to be online as much anymore. Which will probably do me some good.
I know I haven't been the best commenter lately, and it'll probably get worse until we can get all this fixed.

And now for something completely different.

Thanks for all the nice messages to my previous entry. It's been a rough day, but people have been really nice and supportive.

Just wanted to let you guys know that my dad and I will be trying to install our new internett connection tomorrow. Knowing our family luck with stuff like that, we'll fail miserably and will have to call in someone to do it for us, which means we'll probably be offline for a week or two. If there are any important entries I've missed or will be missing in that time, please leave a linke here, thx.

Thank you so much for your lovely cards [livejournal.com profile] cantusnoctum and [livejournal.com profile] elvea_aure , they were both wonderful. :D

And [livejournal.com profile] _krystleklear, [livejournal.com profile] elvea_aure & [livejournal.com profile] lizzy_maxia you need to go In here )

I have to get back to my essay now, 1130 words to go, wish me luck. :)

roguem: (Supernatural)
Thank you [livejournal.com profile] tygerx for both you cards, got them yesterday! I loved them both. :D

... but am taking a little break. Need time to think a little bit, so figured I'd update.

Am feeling a bit better, but two nights ago I woke up in the middle of the night, after I splashed some water on my face I suddenly felt like the temperature dropped extremely and I was really freezing, and I got naseous, made my way in to my livingroom, grabbed my blanket, wrapped myself in it and just lay on the floor. I've experienced something like that before, but think it's the first time it was connected to a cold. Weird, went away though.
Tonight I actually managed to sleep the entire night... didn't wake up till 13:35. I hate sleeping that late, I always try  to be up by 12:00 when I'm at home... 10:00 when I'm in London.
Anyways... am feeling better. Just coughing and feeling a bit tired now, at least the runny nose seems to have stopped.

I've been watching 'Prison Break' eps 1-10. I really like it! The guy who plays Lincoln Burrows, Dominic Purcell, is half Norwegian... just had to mention that. ;) It's a good show. I've always though Wentworth Miller was a good looking man, but never more, but he does look very good in this show, hope the big-suits finally notice him and give him some bigger roles and such. I couldn't forget him after the 1 1/2 episodes of 'Popular' he was in, might have been because I loved his character though.

Am still loving 'Supernatural'. That scene in 'The Journey Home' when Dean calls his Dad. Just wonderful. I want more episodes now!!! I made two Dean icons for [livejournal.com profile] beluga... I just had to share.

Normally I'd post these over in my icon journal, [livejournal.com profile] mukkianglia, but since they were made for [livejournal.com profile] beluga, I'll post them here.

Okay, should get back to my essay. If anybody has anything to say about camera work, or movies and such where they think the camera work and such is very good, please share, and tell me why. Am thinking mainly gritty or dark stuff ala 'Sin City' and 'Angel'... even 'Firefly'. Please share with me, links on the subject are welcome too. :)

Btw I've gotten some cards! I forgot to thank you! *slaps self*.
Thank you very much for you card [livejournal.com profile] starlit_woods, I loved it, and what you wrote made me smile. Thank you very much for the stickers too! :D
Thank you very much [livejournal.com profile] _krystleklear, what you wrote made me very happy, I hope to keep you on my flist for a long time too. :D
And last but not least thank you very much [livejournal.com profile] across_thestars for your wonderful card, it was very cute. :D

I hope everyone has recieved the cards I sent them, I sent them about two weeks ago, so they should have arrived by now.

Okay, back to work.

I was out today fixing some stuff, and what to I find when I get back? A package from [livejournal.com profile] beluga! She'd sent me some chocolates that I love, have only eaten two so far, want to savour them. :) She also put in two CD's, one full of standup show things, seen one of them, was very funny. :D The other was full of Dean (Supernatural) inspired music, stuff you'd expect to find in his collection, which absolutely rocks. She also made a mock Journal for Dean which I loved too, I could imagine him keeping a diary... it's kind of out of character, but in a way that works... kind of like the though of Jayne (Serenity/Firefly) doing origami. YOU ROCK [livejournal.com profile] beluga!

Have been writing cards all day, made a bunch yesterday. hoping the recipients will be happy.

Now... X3 pictures!!! IN HERE )

My hopes are rising, and if rumors are true I'll be able to check out the trailer online tomorrow. *bounces*

Since it seems like the rich text mode isn't working here at LJ at the moment, I'll have to give the good old coding a try. ;)

Anyways, on to the post I promised..
On Firday I had quite the day. I was finally going to find Forbidden Planet, a store full of fandom goodies. I got on the bus and headed in to Picadilly circus, had a look around there as well, had kind of expected to see signs of 'Serenity' coming this week, but sadly there were none.

So I started looking for Forbidden Planet, all I knew was that it was on Shaftsbury Avenue, and I'd managed to get a hold of the 'house-number' so I started walking, thinking it couldn't be too far. Turned out it was a few blocks, but I finally found it. :D It's a great store, and if I were rich I'd go totally crazy in there.

Met up with [livejournal.com profile] trav28 and his wife, Linda, which was very nice. We talked a bit and had a look around the store before they left to have some lunch. I wanted to check out the rest of the store, and then I had to get back to do some homework. I'd picked up a LOTR calendar for 2006 that I was definetly going to buy, and thought I would just have a peek
downstairs to know what was there without actually buying anything. That didn't happen, I got down there and there were so many things I wanted... they're selling 'Buffy' and 'Angel'
seasons for £19.99!! I am going to go back and buy, but I let it be for now, instead I bought the Serenity book and some collector cards, have not opened any of them yet as I am trying to stay
away from spoilers.

As I'm paying for this a guy comes over to me and asks if I wouldn't mind being interviewed for TV. They're kind of testing people to see if they're geeks or
not, I say yes, and he tells me that it's going to be on "Richard & Judy" which is a rather popular mid-day chat show here in the UK.
I have to admit I'm not a big fan of it, bacuse I think Richard is a horrible host. I get over to where the crew is and am introduced to the guy who'll be interviewing me. They start by asking me to show what I've bought, so
I do, then he starts asking me questions like 'who's your favourite dr.who?', 'have you ever been to a convention?', 'have you ever ordered pizza to your home?', then he showed me some pictures and asked me if I knew who these people were. So we finish and he says that I am a semi-geek, but since I'm a girl in a store like Forbidden Planet he'll upgrade me to geek, and then he asks me how I feel about that. I was rather amused by the whole thing so I just said something like; 'I'm proud to be a geek and everybody should embrace their inner geekiness.' They thank me and I sign a release form and am on my merry way. It'll be on sometime this week, but there's no guarantee they'll show me. The guy who asked me if I wanted to be interviewed said my english sounded good, but I'm guessing it'll depend on the editors, and how many other people they interviewed.

On my way back it of course started raining, so by the time I got to the bus I was drenched. When I got back to the house I kind of collapsed on my bed, but did get around to doing my school work, so that should be settled. :D

Got your card today [livejournal.com profile] elvea_aure! Thank you very much, sounds like you had a blast!

Hmmm, been looking at the movie-list I made, still alot of movies missing, will have to make a new one later, hehe.

Starting to feel the need to watch LOTR again, all three extended versions. Was looking for a picture, and had to watch a scene from FOTR. One of my favourite Frodo pictures:
Image hosted by Photobucket.com
After I saw that I just had to see the scene where Boromis attacks him. Can still say all the lines along with the actors... am I sick or just a fan.. hehe. Will have to watch them again soon, have only seen the extended versions once.

Christmas

Got a christmas card from [livejournal.com profile] elvea_aure today, thank you very much!

Was shopping with Isen and [livejournal.com profile] beluga today, getting my parents christmas gifts. In hindsight it might have been better to go alone. I get stressed and snapish under conditions like that. Not good at all. Did get the gifts tho, and am finally finished with the christmas shopping.

Am still struggling with essays, it should be an easy thing to write about, but am completely stuck. And the prospect of having to write another before New Year isn't really tempting either. Ah, well. I really shouldn't complain, will get almost a month of free time when I've finished my exams. :)

The icons 've made for you guys are done... am holding them hostage until Christmas eve. :)

I am The Emperor

The Emperor represents structure, order and regulation - forces to balance the free-flowing, lavish abundance of the Empress. He advocates a four-square world where trains are on time, games are played by rules, and commanding officers are respected. In chaotic situations, the Emperor can indicate the need for organization. Loose ends should be tied up, and wayward elements, harnessed. In situations that are already over-controlled, he suggests the confining effect of those constraints.

I'm Back!

Nov. 27th, 2003 02:15 pm
roguem: (Made By RogueM (Bryan Singer))
Am back from my little shopping trip, I got delayed a bit, cos Camelia wanted to get lunch and stuff before we went out. Then she had to do some other stuff, so I ended up going without her. All I needed was a little something for visiting my aunt and uncle, and a top-up card for my mobile. I got a box of chocolates for my aunt and uncle, and topped up my mobile, and was back here in about 30 minutes. Camelia's gone of to school to get some references for school-applications.

I'm just taking it easy. Went to school this morning, but my teacher was out sick, I just had to sign in to prove that I had actually been there and then I got the questions for the essay. We can choose between three different things, so I think I might go with taking a closer look at "Memento". I watched it for the first time yesterday, and really liked it. I never thought I would, cos I didn't like "Pulp Fiction" because of the whole "jumping around in time" thing, but it really worked for "Memento". Want to get my hands on the DVD cos then you can apparently see it in chronological order as well.
I also saw "Star Trek: Nemesis" yesterday. It was an ok movie, I like the series better though. But I did get a big kick out of Bryan Singer's cameo. He's only in it for a second, so if you blink you miss him. Camelia got to know a guy here that's really in to "Star Trek", so of course she wanted to see what it was all about, and then of course I've got to come along as well. "Star Trek" isn't nearly as terrible as I thought. It's actually enjoyable. Hehe, I'm a bit mean. It's a good show, but I can't quite understand the hype.

We had a christmas workshop as well yesterday. We made christmas-cards. They had put out hot-chocolate, gløgg, gingerbread-men and clementine's for us as well. It was very cozy, they even put on a christmas CD. Personally I still think it's a bit too early, but I had fun. My cards didn't look to good. I felt like the others were really trying to make their cards a work of art, but I just put on different stuff in the hopes that it would look good, and some did. ;)

Was on the net a couple of days ago, and found THIS(There's nothing wrong with the file). I found it utterly hysterical, but that's probably because I know who made it. And I'm not telling you... not yet anyways... :p You might already know, anyways. But I do suggest you have a listen.
I also found a POTC Blooper Reel! Hope someone might find it enjoyable. ;)

Think I'll stop for now, gotta start thinking about getting things ready for tomorrow, we're leaving quite early.
