Finally saw Daredevil yesterday. I liked it better than when I saw it at the cinema.. kind of got over the end fight issue I had. Want a sequel.. what's been taking them so long? Guess I'll just have to get my hands on the director's cut, it is supposed to be better, and might solve some of the things that did bug me. It needs a little more meat in the beginning, the relationship between Matt and Elektra just happens, and goes to intensity waaay to fast. Bullseye just seems to pop up here and there and then go a bit ballistic, he needed a bit more to do. I'm not a big Colin Farrell, but they could have given him a little more screentime maybe?

Despite what people say I liked Ben Affleck in the role as Daredevil. I'm not a big fan of Jennifer Garner either, but she did okay. All in all, I like the film, and am thinking I want to buy my own copy. :)

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Now for the reason I saw the movie. It was really so I could get my comic-book-movie-rating-list in order, but it's easier said than done. My old one can be foun HERE. It's been a while, and there have been a few new comic book movies since then, so here goes.
roguem: (Mad Wolverine by RogueM)
I'm sitting here by myself, wondering if I'm gonna put on 'Daredevil' or if I'm going to wait and watch it tomorrow...
Posted some 'Swordfish' and 'Buffy the Vampire Slayer' icons in my icon journal; [livejournal.com profile] mukkianglia, please join! :)
Previous icons are sorted by subject in memories over in that journal. :)
I was going to have an Elijah day, watch some of his movies.. hasn't happened yet. Wanna watch the 'X-Men' movies too.. Am uninspired. Guess I'll just keep watching "Late Show with David Letterman" for now.
Anyone have any recommendations on movies I ought to see, books I should read, websites I should check out?
Just thought I should add my ranking of the comic-book movies that have been released lately.
1.) X-Men & X2
Good screenplay, acting, and basis for thinking "what if?". These movies are also a good study of human nature and prejudice. I love the introductions in these movies, coz they get you thinking right from the start. Also, if you put yourselves in the so-called baddies shoes, you understand why they're doing what they're doing, and I really liked that.
2.) Daredevil
Yes, this movie has loads of plotholes and I'm sorry to say a very simplistic end-fight. But the characther of Matt Murdoc is likeable. He's been through so much shit in his life, and has all right to crawl into a corner and cry, but he doesn't, he makes the best of it and stands up for what he believes in.
3.) The Hulk
Again, this movie wins because of the characther, he's likeable. But that's about it for this movie. Just read the post below...
4.) Spiderman
I can't stand this movie. Spiderman is a sulky whiny little brat who would focus on the bad thngs in a puppy. Of course he has a right to mourn his uncle, but the movie starts out with him being whiny... and Kirsten Dunst (who I actually like as an actress) was totally mis-cast in this movie. The movie is a downer, not one happy person, well, maybe the aunt, but she doesn't have much screen-time. Everybody is sad about everything... Geez people! Just go drown yourselves if everythings so F*** bad.
